have any of you ever joined a singles club?.
i've recently moved and don't know anyone in the new area.
a friend suggested that this may be a way to better matriculate and start building a social network.. it's pretty pricey but my birthday is next week and i'm considering making this my present to myself this year.. any suggestions?
is it a long term commitment? if it isnt, why not try it?
I tend to meet a lot of people online in my interest areas.. Im very active in chatrooms and usually have more offers to date then I could fill my days off... so I haven't felt a need to venture out into joining a club..
but it probably would be fun!
but, i see that a good number of people here still say things like "i came in to the truth..." or "i learned the truth..." etc.
not being nitpicky or anything but just curious as to why do some still "talk the talk" so to speak.
just out of habit?

...and as before, i thought denzel washington's performance was top-notch.. one thing that has struck me, watching the movie, and reading "the autobiography of", is the moment in his life when he becomes disillusioned with the nation of islam.
it is so familiar a feeling to me, and to a lot of people on this board:.
malcolm was a "true believer" in his religion in every sense of the word.
my ex boyfriend had the movie and we watched it several times.. I always noticed the parallels too
sometimes i wonder if some might actually enjoy staying in a rut.
do we forsee ourselves being totally liberated from our former religious past??
personally, i have no issues feeling bad, angry or hostile toward where i am now.
I actually thought I had moved on pretty well... then I had a breakdown when my dad died and realized I have issued deep in me I probably still havent dealt with when it comes to the cult..
my employer, the city, and my union are really going at it.
the mayor, who won his election with a lot of help from my union and labor in general, is bound and determined to essentially break us.
my union is afscme.
Unions are strong back in the midwest.. hopefully you won't have to strike..
i regret to inform, all of you that i will no longer be a member of this board, ive thought about it a long time and to hard decision that after many hours of praying i will be returning to the society.
i know its the only way i can confront the problem that i am currently faced with, i am sure all of you at one time thought about it too, i am however weak, i know that going back will only delay matters and keep this horrible secret of mine, but its the only way i know how i can deal with it.

it's been a long time since i posted here but i often read your messages when ian (dansk) logs on.
as most of you will know, ian will be going back into hospital on monday for an allogeneic stem cell transplant and will be away from the forum for a good few weeks (hopefully he'll be back home within 4-6 weeks).
last time he was in hospital many of you sent messages to his ward and i know they cheered him up immensely.
Yet another update..........Still groggy, but on the up!!!!!!!!!!
Drips are being reduced in number and substituted for oral medication .....in preparation for home!!!!!!!!!!!
He's hoping to be out possibly early next week if things go according to plan.
that sounds more positive!
we had a trip round the rockies a couple of weeks ago.
is there anywhere more picturesque than this?!.
i still can't believe we live just hours from this .... .
