The fallacy of 'spirituality'.

many here have been able to maintain a relationship with god without the need for a set of beliefs or a creed or any organised system of worship at all.
no churches, meeting halls or study groups are necessary just a deeply held conviction in the goodness of god and the value of a personal relationship with him.. such believers often stress 'spirituality' over religion.. now i don't mean to denigrate anyone's beliefs and no offence is intended but really, is a 'spiritual' approach to life any better for our mental and emotional well-being than being part of an organised religion?

Nic, Nic, Nic. Why do you care what I believe? Along with my new found "spirituality" which you deplore so much, I have found a lot of peace with not giving a shit what someone else believes in. If athiests are going to proseletize I think they are no better than the WTS in that regard. Anytime anyone touts their way as the ONLY way, you know its time to run like hell.
I admire you for your sincerely held beliefs. I don't really care what you think of mine, doesn't impact me in any shape or form.

Why don't you try turning off your television or better yet, get rid of it altogether?
As has been said already the puritanical housewives would just start fretting about something else. Like radio OMG, or what their neighbors are doing behind their closed doors, or maybe back to book burning or something equally as horrid like the biblical injunction to stone our children to death if they talk back to their elders. But wait, that would mean all menstrating women would be quarantined.
BS (aptly named) you have every right to raise your child as you see fit, but you do NOT have the right to think that if we believe differently that we are the abhorrent ones. As has been said before, if you don't like it TURN IT OFF. You don't have to watch it, you don't have to let your kids watch it. And you especially don't have the right to tell me what is right or moral.
Chimmy I hear you that you hate gays. I'm so sorry that you cannot get past our right to express our love for each other by kissing our partners. If you pull all of those scenes you should pull all the hetero kissing scenes too. Equally as repugnant. But thats just another "opinion".

Oh yes, a captive audience for all those hours is OH so painful. At least in my job I work at the computer all day so I can put on the headphones, crank up the tunes and put them on IGNORE!

Ok if you are going to get into old style Nintendo, I will admit to some favorites:
Zelda,
Metroid
Dragon Warrior
Arkinoid (sp?)
Mega ManWell those are the ones I can remember at least, this is what I did with my son while he was growing up. We went with Nintendo through several re-inventions including gameboys, and finally got into PlayStation right before he left home. My ex-husband used to yell at me to GROW UP! People who don't play just don't get it.
I really don't get much chance to play anymore there are so many other things to do. I tell you what, though, if I were single I would be on there a lot more! But its not worth it just to play. Had to think there for a minute! LOL
Can't believe I'm the only Final Fantasy player here! Right now I'm revisiting FF VIII.
