No Excuse to Shun Families - Almost Lost my Son Today

i had such a shock today, its almost bizarre, my son was involved in an accident at work.

he's an ironwoker, which means he works the high steel on skyscrapers and such.

today he was working and tied his safety harness off to the cable as usual, and went to work.. lots of times they have to lean out and rely on that harness to keep them secure while they reach out to do whatever the hell it is they do (best mom's don't always know all), and today his dumbass bosses didn't have the cable attached on one end.

you know i'm not usually the type to do this, i really didn't even think i had it in me.

i was waiting for the bus, it was time for it to pull up, i was chatting with a co-worker and standing right in the middle of a whole bunch of other people, and here come two men in suits with briefcases, one looked to be in his 20s and one older, maybe late 30s or early 40s.

the younger one tries to hand me the magazines, the new way, by shoving them in your hand.

JWs Have a NEW TACTIC (at least to me)

i have a new job now and take mass transit, the max train into town and then a short bus trip to work.

in between i have about 3 to 6 blocks to traverse, depending on what time it is and which bus i'm catching.

today i'm walking the last bit to my stop and watching the street for signs of the bus, and two women come walking up, at a good clip, and i can tell they are handing something out.

i just wanted to pass along some good news, life has been a bit difficult for me recently and a lot of the stress was because i moved to a new state by taking a one-year contract position - one that was excellent on my resume so i thought it would be worth the risk.

so that ended at the end of august and i have been floundering trying to find work.. as of tomorrow i am once again gainfully employed, this time permanent position in my chosen field with bennies!!!.

congratulations to me!.

yesterday i was playing pogo and of all things, jws came up in conversation.

i mentioned that i used to be one and what do you know, there was another person in there as well!

yesterday some friends and i went to visit the oregon white wolf sanctuary.

its the only arctic wolf sanctuary in the united states, and only takes wolves born in captivity that are abused or unwanted.

they were absolutely gorgeous.

Doctrine of Suppression - I sincerely want to know this...

watching the video of the street preacher at the district convention got me thinking (always a dangerous proposition).

there seems to be this history revolving around christianity.

starting with the romans, the idea began to be, convert through suppression, oppression, war and acts of violence.
