my youngest brother just called me, and during our conversation he mentioned that he got a letter from our uber-witness sister.
you know the type, married out of the cult, professional victim, fanatical believer, lives in constant fear the big j will watch her doing something she shouldn't.. my brother is out too, and what he found interesting about the letter, was that it wasn't addressed to him, it was addressed to his wife (his wife and our sister are not friends nor have they had any contact in years).
the letter was to inform her of something business related (for him not her), and didn't even mention my brother.

The letter was to inform her of something business related (for him not her), and didn't even mention my brother. We figure she rationalized it that talking to the unbelieving spouse of an apostate is ok but talking to a family member. Didn't stop her from gambling while he was visiting a few years ago, though, she must have done a lot of extra praying to fix that up with the big J.
Do you remember those types of rationalizations? "Well they haven't specifically said this, so its ok" or well I can't do THIS, but if I do THIS it works out the same and I can get around it. WTF?? Doesn't that send up some kind of red flags???
The other interesting thing about our conversation was about our mother. She fits the above description of my sister with the addition of being an abusive beyotch. Apparently he and his therapist were having a discussion about our parents and the religion. The therapist asked him, "What would you do if your mom said tomorrow, 'You know you're right f*k this religion, I'm out of here'? I told him I thought she would be the same disallusioned angry woman, without an enabler to keep her in her comfort zone. I think I like her better now when she doesn't talk to us!
But as the conversation went on we got into the passive aggressive part, our mom, our sister, several other family members, and scores of witnesses we personally knew were all smug and self righteous about not having to do anything at armeggedon, all these people would be killed by god and they were/are gleeful about it. Its like they have all this anger and can't vent it so they pass it along to their god who will step in and do the dirty work for them.
Ok I'm venting, but I wonder how many of you have had similar experiences or thoughts?

if satan wanted freedom..shouldn't he search for the truth if nothing else is working?
(truth sets free?).
isn't that what a rebel wants?
in the Legend of Satan, the biblical god said Adam and Eve would die that very day if they ate of the fruit. The snake said they would absolutely not die. Adam and Eve did not die that day, as the god told them, so Satan did not lie, the biblical god did. No other judeo christian religion (that I'm aware of) believes in that one day equals 1000 years nonsense, so how can they support the lie that this biblical god told them? This story was always one of the ones I never did get.
If you want a really good laugh about it all, read Good Omens by Neil Gaiman, hilarious book about what happens if the devil isn't quite as bad as he's painted, and god's not quite as good as he's given credit for. Oh yea, and the plot twist is that the anti-christ is born but he and another baby get mixed up in the hospital. Funny as all "hell"...

today my washer broke.
i was taking a shower, when i heard the most gawdawful noise, very loud grinding buzzer sound from my washer.
i hurried as fast as i can because its a saturday morning and i don't want to wake up the whole neighborhood but it took me a couple minutes.
Ballistic,
Glad we could get the laundry right, heaven knows we've murdered the language!
Ha, silly boy. Did you read up the latest WT and Awake whilst you were getting your skivvies laundered?

i'm an oldtimer.
but does anyone else remember the "demon scare" back in the 60s or 70s?
the watchtower came out with articles about demon possession.
I was in back then. But I don't remember a time when demonz weren't a big deal. Everything was suspect. If you bought something at a rummage sale (garage sale), you had to watch out for them deemonz, in fact if you got anything second hand it was suspect. There were always stories circulating about that. Also demonized music and tv shows, and cartoons, you name it. People used to tell the most amazing "ghost stories" too.
I remember this one elder and his wife (this guy was high up in the circuit too, don't know what the position) but he told this story about driving along this dark deserted road with the family one dark rainy night and all of a sudden this demon jumps on the sideboard to his suburban and starts trying to get in the door. I can't remember what all transpired, the thing supposedly was swarming all over it trying to get in and they were swerving around and calling out the majick "J" word. Finally the spooks left.
We all sat around wide eyed, mouths open, oohing and ahing on cue.
What a bunch of maroons we were.

Anyway, so I told the apartment manager (its actually theirs) and they arranged to stop by and look at it this afternoon... and I'm off to my big laundry day adventure. Did I mention my mood was getting pissier by the minute? HA. Get there, get everything loaded in.... WHAT??!! $2.25 per washerload. OMFG but I digress. Now I have a few minutes to look around the place. Aren't those places fun? Started looking through the magazine stack and there it was. Watchtower in Spanish.
I tossed it in the trash. Kept on looking at the magazines and sure enough, WT and Awake in English. I almost swished them in the bin too, but then I had a flash. I remembered someone in this forum wrote things on them when ever they come across the mags. So I went out to the car, got a marker, and wrote: WT protects pedofiles www.silentlambs.org on both of them.
Don't know why, but my mood brightened considerably after that.
What do you all do when you come across the mags?

mother/granny/mouthy always send cards to her loved ones seems no one has started a christmas exchange gift this year & i am not going to start it either
bttt
i was never df'd.
if ever the elders asked me to attend a judicial committee for some reason, i would refuse.
i would never accept to go to their kangaroo court.
Nope, no kangaroo court for me either. In my mind going along with and to their JC validates it. I absolutely refuse to play their little games with them. Not that they would even know where to find me at this point in my life, but nevertheless the answer is absolutely not, or in other words, not just no - but HELL no.

I can't answer for everyone, but I'm sending mine out after Thanksgiving is over, depending on where they are going. If they're going overseas I'll send them the first week in December. If they are in the US it'll probably be the second week in December. I really don't think it matters though, I don't think it's orchestrated at all.
