My 8 Foot R/c Plane...
by FMZ ini know, i know... it's just another big toy... but this rocks!.
it's made of pink foam (it will be covered in black monocote when finished with flames on the wingtips), and the wingspan is 8 whole feet.
most of the electronics are in there apart from the motor, which shipment was delayed on.

I don't think God is fair./what do u think?
by wednesday inmy therapist and i talked about the bible, specifically, adam and eve and their sinning by eating from the forbidden fruit.
he says it is really a great lesson on consequences of your actions.
i agreed and we talked at some length about it, but one thing i decided, god was not fair.

IF the creator of the universe IS the bible god, then yes, he is an ass.
But I don't think that the Bibble god is the creator, or even a good aproximation.

Now that's an injury a man can be proud of!
by Elsewhere in*** grunt *** *** grunt *** *** grunt ***.
as some of you already know, satan pushed me down the stairs the other night and broke my ankle.
i'm proud to say that the bruises appear to have come to full maturity and are looking very manly.

Does an asteroid hit signal a divine failure
by Satanus inwt goes on about how perfectly the universe runs, even better than watch.
they quote the scripture about god calling each star by name, and none ever being missing.
do stars blowing up sigal a failure for the master worker?
-

I don't think the Wt would even tackle that question honestly. It could get too "Earthy" for them.
To answer the question first posed, I think it is just the nature of nature to be creative and destructive at the same time. A star blows up. That star is no-more. But from its death are born new elements that could not be created in the main sequence of a star's life cycle--I think its any element above Iron on the elemental chart. Up to that point, fusion gives off energy; beyond that point, more energy is required than is given off, and that is why the star implodes. At least that's the theory anyway.

When you die, I suspect you wake up crying
by IronGland inthis post isn't about the paranormal or whether there is, in fact, life after death.
rather, it's about the mistaken philosophical conclusions to which atheists sometimes come.

4 thousand years ago, people had epilepsy, schizophrenia and other neurological diseases. Or sometimes, they simply heard voices from places they couldn't pinpoint, or it was science that was beyond their knowledge (I.E. Cosmology, Geology, Meterology.) People didn't know these things because of a lack of science and reason.
Science has become the new "Religion". Scientists like to forget the fact that 500 years ago, the best of them taught that the earth was flat. And they would kill you to prove it, or at leat publicly humiliate you. So, all phenomenon are explainable by Science, and anything not fitting the paradigm is unworthy to be even mentioned or questioned? What fitting homage to the infallable Dogma of "The Scientific Method".
Another vision of death is this. Your body itself will always still exist in the space-time area you exist in, but the electrochemical reactions that cause your conciousness, which puts your body into motion is finite.
So, our consciousness, our awareness of our self awareness, is the result of electrochemical reactions? Has this been proved scientifically? It can't be--proved or disproved. Just as the Newtonian laws of physics breakdown and become meaningless on the quantum level, the scientific method itself, breaks down; eventually it becomes an exercise in semantics and ego.
I have been acused of being anti-science in the past, and I don't care. I actually love science and nature. I think that emotionally mature science, science without ego, is beautiful. It is OK to say, "I don't know."
I got to go, my computer time is up.

what we used to call "privileges"
by in a new york bethel minute inof all the privileges only brothers may have, doing mics seemed to be one of the most tedious.
it was definitely something you could graduate from... but why?
when i was the sound guy, it was always so hard to get brothers to do the mics.
-
darkuncle29
I hated doing mics. I didn't have an abundance of upper body strength, especially when long winded brothers and sisters would get to yacking. And don't you know it, they would always sit out of reach, so you had to lean over other people and extend you arm way out.
Another thing is that I have an honest and sometimes expressive face. When you are standing there holding the mike, you are facing everybody else. On occasion, when certain "wise" and "mature" individuals would make comments that even JWs would see as Crack-pot, my face would get still, my eyes would get either huge like saucers, or no-blinking. Or say, the answer was about sexual immorality blah blah; there I was, Deer-in-the-Headlights, trying to become camoflauged with the background.
I liked the parking lot duty, there was a rotation to it, but sometimes I would extend my time into the next brothers'--what a sacrifice!
When I started working too many hours--and was unspiritual--I was relieved to be inneligible for mic duty, and I used to on occasion make faces at friends doing mics.

I think of our lives as being like a great simulation. When its over, you could be "debriefed" and maybe want to give it another go. If no, then no big deal. I think the experience is what we're in it for, to learn from the good and the bad.

I think all the hoopla is a bit silly.
It Was A Costume Party.
God forbid that anyone should dress like Hitler for halloween (or ANY costume event). And as for swastikas in Europe, are they going to be erased from the Bhuddist temples and shrines?

NWO descends on iraqi farmers
by Satanus in"as part of sweeping "economic restructuring" implemented by the bush administration in iraq, iraqi farmers will no longer be permitted to save their seeds, which include seeds the iraqis themselves have developed over hundreds of years.
instead, they will be forced to buy seeds from us corporations.
that is because in recent years, transnational corporations have patented and now own many seed varieties originated or developed by indigenous peoples.

I hope they can hide seeds away for genetic diversity. Maybe they can do a better job of this than hiding the

wanting to leave jw org

Welcome. WinstonSmith and Seattleniceguy wrote letters that stuck in my mind. Whatever you do, take it slow. I myself have done the fade, and for the time being am under any radar. Take it slow, like a chess game, once you commit, you are pretty much stuck with what you choose.
What you eventually decide, depends alot on your personal constitution and other variables such as family and friends. Perhaps the better course of action on your part might be a commitment to "no-action" or no set path; and then read and reasearch either in this forums' archived discusions or elsewhere. Good Luck.
