    hmm.... where to begin?

i should first state that i'm someone who has nothing to hide, although i'm not prooud of some of the things i've done in my life, they were nonetheless experiences to be learned from, and i have spent much energy in trying to do so.

this may turn out to be a rather lengthy posting and even still, there are many things that i will innevitably not include.. i was born in victoria, bc in 1982, the majority of my childhood is not available to me so i have to live mostly on information from my family to fill in the gaps, but we moved around a lot after that up until i was 5, when my parents divorced.

My life ... and how JWD came to be - Part 1

    by Simon in

    2. experiences

a few people have asked how jwd came about and what my own story is and while i've posted it in bits and bobs, i've never tried to tell it as a story so here goes .... living in suburbia.

i was born a jw to jw parents who had recently been missionaries / pioneers in ireland and taken literature into countries like spain when it was banned but who were now living in suburbia near to where they had both been brought up.

we lived in a new semi-detached house in a cul-de-sac at the bottom of a hill - fantastic for building go-carts and racing down !

Thanks for posting your story Simon! I can't wait until the next installment.

By the way, what's your "official" Apostate Super Villian name?

ApostaMan? Hmmm... maybe not. Any other suggestions?

I remember that if you got your book at the DC, it included a special message to "Jehovah's Young Witnesses" from the GB.

    WHOOOOOPTY FREAKING-DOO!

Like the GB could even remember what it was like to be a young person.

according to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's probably shouldn't have survived.

our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.

LAWNDARTS! Don't forget the lawndarts! Too much fun throwing them at your friends!

I wonder if that where my mom (and every other mom in the world) got the phrase, "It's all fun and games, until someone looses an eye!"

    Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

I've been ordering it under the ISBN and the author's name. (I just can't spell.) I guess I'll have to order it online. I read the first chapter on Amazon.com, but I've had issues with them before. Thanks to Dustyb and Euph for the publisher's info.

tonight on the news i saw yet another story about that dear little 11-year-old girl who was kidnapped and killed.

    i thought of her.

i thought of the 77-year-old woman who was kidnapped and killed in our area last week.

    • One for my Granpa and Gramma, an aunt, three uncles, two cousins and a friend who all died of cancer.
    • One for two friends who died of depression. They felt that suicide was the only way out.

    I miss them all.

I keep all cash in the wallets, all credit cards, checks books, i make a honest effort to turn back to its owners. Cell phones, I usually will make a few long distance calls, then I call the owner and tell them thier phone was found on the bus.

Really? That truely makes me sad. And, it's justified by calling it severance pay... Hmmm... I wonder if the poor folks who's money you take would agree to that line of reasoning?

Oh well, Karma will come back and even the score. Then again, I don't know you except through posts, maybe you've already paid that debt and this is your reward? (Hmmm... you were at Bethel. That's a big something in your Karma credits.)

i have never been a jw nor anyone in my family, so i feel like i don't quite fit in with all of you, but hope you'll welcome me.

i have done extensive research and study of the watchtower teachings.

    Welcome to the Board, Nan!

The folks here are a great source of support! I hope you get out of it everything you need to free your son and his wife from the WTBS.

(Oh, and I hope you stick around a while. It's nice to have another Arkie on the board.)
