  Liberal Equals Ex-JW

  something i've noticed on this board is that there seem to be many more liberal-left types than conservative-right types.

  what do you think of my following theories?

  in the 70s, many converts to jw-dom were influenced by the anti-establishment philosophy and anti-viet nam war.

  I'm very liberal and I have a pretty good sense of humor about myself.

  At least I annoy the heck out of that old lady at work with all my laughing and jokes! ;c)

  tomorrow i am leaving for the silent lambs summit.

  at 5 a.m. tonight, my jw brother, who is dying from a very rare disease, tells me that he was molested by the same guy that molested me.

  he also hints around that our brother, who is dead, was molested.

  on her radio show, dr laura schlesinger said that, as an observant orthodox jew, she views homosexuality as an abomination according to leviticus 18:22, and cannot condone it under any circumstance.

  the following response is an open letter to dr. laura, penned by a us resident, which was posted on the internet.. .

  President Bartlet, on The West Wing, said something similar to this when a Dr. Laura type person was pushing this issue on the show. Loved it then, love it now.

  Do you still have a nice handwriting?

  more than ever, we use our computers and printers to write whatever we need to write.

  it's neat and we can edit our mistakes without anybody noticing.

  but on the other hand, we practise less and less our handwriting.

  If I want someone to be able to read what I have written, I'll print it. Otherwise, I have marginal handwriting. My signature is cool though. I have a lot of fun with that.

  What are you paying for gas in your neck of the woods?

  the price of gas is getting rediculous here in northern california!

  i just paid $2.11 for a gallon of regular gas; premium was selling for $2.33 a gallon!

  unbelievable!

  Wow! That makes me feel a little better. Here in central Arkansas we're paying $1.71 a gallon for the lowest grade. The premium was $1.91.

  so it's a beautiful saturday morning in murphy, texas -- big tex was about to go to home depot and i was about to start weeding the garden when we looked out front and there was a nondescript 4-door sedan parked in front of our house.

  the two guys in it weren't getting out, so we thought "uh-oh.

  " i asked again, "why didn't you come and visit me then?

  Democrat or Republican?

  when i left the witnesses, i decided it was time to vote.

  so i registered republican and went to voting all republican and conservative.

  i figured, they might not be perfect, but unlike the democrats that i have seen.

  Independent Conservative who ain't seeing many Dems worth voting for.

  And, I'm the guy who evens the scales on the other side:

  Independent Liberal who just can't vote for Bush. (I don't know about the congressional races here in AR, yet. Not a lot has been said about them, yet. Our primary isn't until May.)
