did you watch the story about the jw who was working as a burger boy at some diner and his boss wanted him to work on sunday during the time of his meeting?

this faithful jw decided he could not attend a later meeting (6 pm sunday meeting) and soon quit his job(or got fired to attend his sunday meeting) so he could attend the sunday meeting he was assigned to.

i think he was on welfare because this story states he won't work on sunday morning because that's when his meeting is!

This Brother was a fool to leave a job before he had a new one. How irresponsible, he has a family.

The depiction of this scenario is exactly what the Watchtower wants it members to do. They want you to quit your job instead of finding another job first or going to a different meeting time that fits your schedule.

These guys are so out of touch with reality . How can you be in reality when you don't have to make a living and EVERYTHING is taken care of for you. What is so sad about it is that people follow along with it at the expense of their families.

Caleb and Sophia get baptized ???

not yet.. however, over the past few weeks two members of the governing body have given talks encouraging young children to get baptized.. gerrit losch - france.

mark sanderson - germany.

if the reports are correct then the governing body of jehovah's witnesses are preparing jw parents to accept their young children getting baptized.no doubt, soon, very soon, a caleb and sophia cartoon will appear in which child baptism will be promoted and encouraged.

Too bad Caleb and Sophia's parents are not going to be shown being baptized. I'm sure they are a fine "spiritual" couple and have been baptized for years. Tony "tight pants" Morris could picture buff Daddy in his sexy speedo (Tony would probably like that) and Mommy could be shown getting baptized in her Burka. lol

It took me a while to figure out what spiritual meant to the uber JW's. A friend of mine always uses the "spiritual" word. "They are a spiritual family, he/she is a spiritual person, etc."

The spiritual word is used by the JW's to describe people who are willing to do the tasks required to be accepted by the organization (they say Jehovah). This means tasks accepted by men. They included meeting attendance, field serve us, underlining your Watchtower, commenting at the meeting (30 seconds and under please), assembly attendance, baptism, pioneering, reaching out to be an Elder or MS. The list could go on and on. You could be the biggest a** inside or outside the congregation but as long as you do the task and men can see it, you get the thumbs up (this of course depends on WHO you are).

G Losch: child baptised at 5, reg pioneer since!

at the end of april, there was a zone visit in france, with tv broadcast in all kh.. g. losch told he received a letter from a girl, 10 years old, baptised at 5, reg pioneer since 4 years !

what a fine example, he said....... let s imagine the faces of the parents in the kh!

i was happy to see i was not the only one to find it crazy.. if you have a child, you know how mature he is at 5. how can a child preach 2.5hours/day after 7hours of school and homework to do??

When these "little ones" get baptized, notice how they all gush over the fact that they got baptized so young. It's a brag fest! "My Suzy is better than your Johnny. She's at Bethel, a need greater, a pioneer, yadda, yadda, yadda." I wonder when we will see bumper stickers. "My child is a need greater in Africa." lol

Mother's day according to Joseph Rutherford

this is what the second president of the watchtower society, the channel of god appointed in 1919, wrote about the mother's day:.

satan would turn the people away from this beautiful symbol, and therefore from god, and cause them to disregard the word of the lord.

this he does in a very subtle way by organizing what in england and in america, the chief countries of christendom, is called "mother's day".

what was that blessing part about?

i kept hearing pioneers talking about the blessings that they were receiving and as i looked at their lives objectively, there really isn't anything special about them.

maybe they are just more appreciative of things than other people.

You are correct, there is NOTHING special about them. They think they are Jehovahs "special possessions."

We have need greater/pioneer family members and WOW do they think they are wonderful. So much better than you and not afraid to tell you. They really don't see how pathetic they look to some of the family. Legends in their own minds.

They sure know how to sniff the ones who have money! They only come around when they need something.

if you have been a jw for 20+ years you may remember that the wt went into great detail on different illustrations that jesus used and the "type/anti-type" ridiculous explanations.

remember the revelation book and how those obscure jw conventions of the past pictured big things in heaven and the opening of seals?

anyway, the wt lessons for the next two weeks do two big things for me.

We had a Brother in our hall who lost his job and took the advise given at the Circuit Assembly. "If you loose your job, pioneer. Brothers who Pioneer are blessed, in due time, with a job offer." This is how it was spun at the Circuit Assembly.

This Brother did just that, Pioneered. Well...a few years later his pissed off wife went to the Elders and complained that he was not providing for her financially. The Elders met with the Brother and read him the ole standby scriptures about providing for his family (you know the drill). He ended up getting a job.

Moral to the story....in this religion....your damned if you do and damned if you don't. Crazy!!!
