the whole study was centered around how we can, and should, spent time visualizing ourselves in the new world, working along with our brothers.
They are pushing for kids to get baptized because that is their ONLY hope. Sad!
The old ones are dying off and they are not converting new ones, so their only hope is the kids! The problem with this is, the kids are smarter than they are (especially when they hit the 20ish age). This is the social media/internet generation and they are a whole different ball game. If they don't like you...they simply unfriend you! As simple as that.

They do it because they know it works. It used to work on us too. Guilt and fear work wonders on peoples emotions.
I tried using my imagination that I was part of a loving and kind organization but eventually (like most of us here) woke up to the fact that is is a manipulative, high control and abusive cult.

I never got this one....a Brother or sister CAN NOT do electrical work, plumbing work or construction, etc. on a Church. They are not supposed to even enter a church for a function but the WBTS will sell a Kingdom Hall to a church. WTF?

this strange photo is from a pioneer school graduating class in russia.. they're hiding their faces because, supposedly they don't want to be identified as jw's and run the risk of persecution.. the picture is very telling.

it has been a long looong time since i posted on here, but never ceased reading all the posts and keeping up on the changes that have been going on!
but it just seems that now i have a need to get something off my chest, and this is the one place that will most definitely understand the topic at hand.
i have been disfellowshipped for about 8yrs now, and have dealt with the 'consequences' of that decision: all my so-called friends in the org left and i was also abandoned by my own family.

This is a sad story. It is hard to believe that parents can completely turn on their own child.
I heard a story of a childhood friend (she is an only child) who was DF'd and all are shunning her. Now her parents are elderly, sickly and in need of some physical and financial help. One of the Brothers said they are trying to "track down" the daughter. The part that sickens me is they have treated her as if she is dead UNTIL they NEED her help. These people have NO shame!
You sound like you have a great bf. Hang on to him for strength. Let your parents (they don't even deserve to be called that) go. As much as it breaks your heart. They showed their true colors to your entire family. A BIG hug to you and your bf!
