Finally heard a Dub defend overlapping generations
by Socrateswannabe insince the overlapping generations doctrine was introduced, i have found the jws i know to be uncharacteristically silent on the subject.
i can't remember hearing a single dub try to defend this idiocy.
but that all ended recently.

I bet if you asked this "sister" to explain it to someone, she couldn't. It makes zero sense! -

No...I think you should just be vague about the info you supply to them. You don't have to go into detail about your schooling. I have gone even as far as telling some of the more intrusive/nosy ones that it's really none of their business or I'd rather not speak about it.
They can't throw the negativity at you if they don't have any information.
If they ask how school is going, tell them it's challenging but you are enjoying the challenge. Or just say, it is going fine. Smile....they hate it when you smile. lol

We have several in our family that are now into their late 60's. They are still working hard physically. They have no retirement and are paying the high cost of medical insurance due to being self employed. These were the ones that were told (via JW literature) back in 1969 that they would not need education because the end was sooo close. These ones chose to pioneer. Are they resentful? Yes they are. We hear it all of the time. They are now encouraging us to get our children educated so they can support themselves.
What really stands out with the Governing Body is how they discourage ones from higher education and then in the next breath they are asking for anyone with degrees (lawyers, accountants, medical, engineering, construction, etc) to volunteer on construction projects, etc. Come on...this is the highest form of hypocrisy there is!
The explanation we have received on this one is. If it is for "kingdom interests" then the higher education is ok. In other words, if it can benefit ($$$$) the WT, it is ok to do. That mindset seems to be a pattern. If it benefits the org it's ok. Really?
HYPOCRITES!!!!

Oh, one more thing. Don't tell ANYONE how hard and draining school is. The JW's just seem to thrive on other peoples misery. Just tell them everything is going fine or great. They want to be all up in your business. Don't fall for it.
If you want to share how hard your studies are, come on here and vent. Most on here have been where you are and you will receive more encouragement that you will at the Kingdom Hall.

"There is one particular lady who hates me for this though."
She doesn't really hate you, she's jealous. In reality she would love to do what you are doing. If she's married to a well off man, then she doesn't understand your plight.
My advice...go for it and do well. That is what get's to them and that's how you "stick it to them." lol

Wilmington Delaware Media report in another Topic
by truthlover insexual abuse by a female member of a 14 year old in the congregation and elders being sued by the county --- now that co's are liable for the elders only - does that mean the elders will lose everything if fines are levelled against them, since the society has washed their hands and separated themselves by setting the co in place??

I wouldn't want to be an Elder. The liability is incredible! -

How much of a " free-spirit" are you?
by The Rebel ini think every one wants to be a " free- spirit", but what does that really mean?.
i ask the question because :-.
a) i decided i would not give the religiouse organisation i belonged to the power to force me to rebel within its organisation, when the " free-spirit" inside me no longer wanted to be controlled by this religion.. b) i now realise the " free-spirit" within me that demanded independence from w.t control has also come with great consequences, which has now made the price of my liberation seem shallow.. anyway i am not well educated, but i do now appreciate the psychological and emotional consequences my actions have had on my family, and friends.

Changes to reporting
by Formerbrother inso it seems placing literature is not so important anymore, now that we live in a digital age.. we are being pushed to show videos instead.
this is the new reporting from next month, just hrs and any literature placed in one box and then how many videos you showed in another box.. bib changes for sure..

Changes and why
by Formerbrother inso far these are all the recent changes i know of, please add more if i have missed anything.. 1. all construction projects have either been stopped or reduced.. 2. all bethels are downsizing by at least 20% within one year of the announcement, and almost certainly more in years to come.. 3. remaining belelites will have to make their own food, do their own washing and cleaning.. no more laundry department, no more kitchen and waiters, no more housekeeping!.
and you still only get 80 per month, but no rent or bills, and food will be provided in the family fridge but you have to prepare it yourself.. as to why, it has been said several times officially its not because of a lack of funds, but how could that possibly be the truth?.

Per Tony Morris in his U.S. Zone meeting talk, addressing over 1.1 million JW's:
Sister's were warned that a male (brother), age 23 or older. Not currently serving as an MS or Elder. Would NOT make a suitable marriage mate.
So, any brother's over the age of 23 and not a servant, would now be viewed in the congregation in a negative light. Even if he is a nice humble brother, unless he is serving, he is a nothing to the org.
Since this talk, there has been no changes made to Tony's comment. It has become a new policy. This was done to use guilt and peer pressure to get more brother's to reach out!

Got up. I was a lazy person and didn't even make the bed. Went for a long walk with my best friend and spouse. Went for a nice lunch. Went to the store and my spouse is watching football on the big screen.
No guilt , no judgement, just a beautiful day!
