Lyman Swingle (GB) told me what would bring down the Organization!
by new boy init was about 15 years ago.......... i was at a one day special event in woodburn or.
i was talking to lyman swingle about how the society could save some money.
it was a crazy idea ( to crazy to relate here)...............anyway he laughed and said to me.. "brother..........we have always had the money to do the things we needed to do.......and if we didn't.......we felt it was god's holy spirit telling us, it wasn't what we should be doing".......so...i said "so the money is like a barometer, no approval, no money"......he said "yea..... i guess you could say that!

I remember going through greeting cards at the store, looking for cards that DID NOT say best wishes. This was a no no. My....how things have changed. We even saw, dancing, singing and performing at the Kingdom Halls and Assembly halls, just about a year and a half ago. Full bands! We couldn't even play a recording of a "worldly song" at our wedding in the 80's. Things that make ya go ....Hmmm! -

Blood Cards on File with the Elders?
by EyesOpenHeartBroken ini have a question for elders here or recent elders.
were the elders, in the last 10 years, given instruction to keep a copy of every publishers blood card on file at the kh?.
we moved to our current cong 6 years ago, and shortly after we moved in, the boe requested everyone update and give a copy of card to the kh.

Our Elders were too lazy to make copies of the blood cards and keep them on file.
I shredded mine!

Chapter 1 My Bethel Experience First Posted 9 Years Ago A Walk Down Memory Lane
by new boy inpart 1. i when to bethel march 21,1970. at the time you had to be a pioneer for two years to apply, by the time i left in 1974 they were calling people in who had never pioneered..........average stay was 5 months (they had signed up for 4 years)..........the reason they left was......well, it was hell.. one of the reasons was, knorr hated bethelites, but he loved the gilead students and why?
because when they screwed up they were thousands of miles away!........just before i got there, they had kicked out over 30!
homosexuals (at one time) ....the would kick out 1-2 bethelites a week.

"Gary will DIE at armageddon because he doesn't do what I tell him to do".
This is the JW attitude. They should put that one on a plaque and make it the text for the year. They love this one. Oh...can you feel the love!

Is the Pioneer School being eliminated?
by wannaexit ini heard from the semi reliable source that the pioneer schools will go the way of the dodo bird next year.. i could see this happening.
it used to be that you went to the the pioneer school once.
then they allowed dubs to go every 5 years.

Oh boy, if that is true, what will all the "special" JW's do? No titles? How will they be "special?" They gotta have bragging rights or whats the point of going on? Maybe more prescription meds will help! -

"In any event, with those volunteers busy in Warwick, the group was looking into making a financial contribution to finish the project, Mr. Devine, the spokesman, said. “We realized that we were stretched,” he said."
Interesting comment by Mr. Devine. Are they "stretched" financially or did he mean "stretched" for volunteers to do the job, since they are busy at Warwick? Maybe both?

What a great witness to the community. lol
"The parks controversy seems to have exposed a long-simmering resentment of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, also known as the Watchtower, for planning to leave a city that has enriched the religious group exponentially, community leaders say, yet to which it has given little in return."
'Giving little in return." We on this forum can back that statement up. The WT gives nothing, it only takes. Ask all the Bethelites who are being "sent into the field."

Part 2 was very interesting. It was really worth listening to. Especially the part on how brothers went to jail unnecessarily for not going into the military. He really explained it well, how the WT changed their stance (more new light) on doing a civil service job versus going to jail. Then the WT blames it on the brothers strong conscience for making that decision. Really? The long term damage the WT has done to so many families is just incredible. -

The story of my exit
by mrsObfuscate ini have been lurking here for about 6 months, and being the last day of the year, and ready to start the new one afresh, i want to share the story of our exit from the org.
i have found the personal experiences of others of immeasurable value, (and its been a while since a good exit story has been posted) that i hope this can be of benefit to at least someone.. .
my mother became a jehovahs witness when i was about 9 or 10. i remember initially hating all of the new sanctions put on our lives (no birthdays and christmas anymore) but for some reason i soon after joined her in attending the meetings and eventually got baptized at the age of 14. my staunch catholic father converted a couple of years later.

Welcome!
"Rather than rally around me to help me to continue, I was avoided, even by friends I’d had for 20 odd years. "
This is the saddest reality of it all. You have this false perception that your Brothers and sisters will be there for you. It is amazing how quickly they can erase you from their lives. It's disturbing.
We are so glad you escaped with your family. We feel the same way you mentioned....never happier! Keep up the good work and enjoy your new freedom. Life if good!
