Dear Jehovah's witnesses, a question....
by punkofnice indear jehovah's witnesses and on-the-fencers.. isn't it even a little bit obvious that the watchtower organisation doesn't have jehovah's blessing?.
if it did, why are your leaders, the governing body, asking you for your money and assets?
surely, jehovah would provide for the organisation without having to use your hard earned money and assets?.

When we needed money we had to do the dreadful four letter word....WORK! As most of you on this forum have to do. We have to get up each morning and work, so do our children. No one sends all of us money.
We were advised when times got tough for our family, trust in Jehovah. Well WT, take your own advise, trust in Jehovah or get a JOB.

To all JDub lurkers: How can you continue to preach knowing that you are telling lies?
by macys inthis is a damn serious question.
you must know by now that jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 bce and that 607 was initially picked by ct russell by using his "pyramid scheme" measurements.
there is no hiding these facts yet you continue to preach this nonsense.

We couldn't do it anymore. It went against everything we stand for.
I think some have tons of family and some rely on the JW's in their businesses or work for JW's. I guess it can be more complicated for some. I try not to judge someone else's personal experiences.
Also, there are some who may have elderly parents and are looking forward to the inheritance they so rightly deserve. If you call it quits the inheritance may go bye bye and WT gets it all. We have some in our family that we suspect are waiting for elderly parents to pass away before they call it quits. It sounds morbid but it is something we all have to face eventually.
Just my 2 cents.

The wonderful things you hear AFTER you step down as an elder!
by redpilltwice inwell, well, that was quite a heartfelt welcome on this site four days ago.
thank you all for the encouraging replies.
one of them was this one from magnum: "hey now, don't just pop your head in and disappear.

It's nice some have felt comfortable enough that they can confide in you. They must really like you as a person.
Boy, I wish we could be candid with some of the more intelligent and kinder JW's. We know there has to be some we "connected" with that have to be scratching their heads.

Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow
by MrsR-Awaken inthis is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.
will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.
he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

I hope you get to enjoy true weekends soon. It truly is a pleasure enjoying the weekends like a normal person.
"our recent visit had our CO saying he was disappointed in our lack of zeal for placing more magazines. "
You can NEVER do anything right according to the JW cult. Enough is never enough! I remember hearing, "if you go out in field service for 2 hours, can you do 2 and a half hours. If you can do 2 and a half hours, could you do 3?" Ugh!!!

The disappointed look on a Jehovah's Witness face - that you're living a good and fulfilling life
by jambon1 inanother thread got me thinking of this issue.
i don't think you'll ever come across a set of people with such a skewed and twisted outlook on life.. my memory serves me well when i recall a sort of blood lusting excitement over things like the 9/11 atrocities.
in fact i remember jw's describing the event as 'sad but exciting.

"The best thing you can do is to live a good, productive life. Believe me, they hear about it. You don't need to go about bragging. Shouting 'I'M HAPPY' from the rooftops. Just live your life. Your productive and happy existence will have them scratching their heads as they look around at how many problems exist in the 'spiritual paradise.'
Be happy."
Great post! Yes, this is a doom and gloom cult. It perplexes them when you are happy. That's why my spouse and I are supper happy when we bump into a JW. "We're doing GREAT" throws them for a loop. The look on their faces is priceless!

Living as Christians at the C.L.A.M this week
by Truthexplorer inthis weeks meeting under the section - living as 'christians', starts off with 'repentance makes a difference', which is a talk given by an elder taken from w06 11/15 27-28 par 7-9. in a nut shell it discusses those who have been disfellowshipped and then show repentance.
it then goes on to discuss reinstatement and how a certain amount of time must pass by before this can take place.
it makes the following point in the paragraph.. 'a disfellowshipped person is not automatically accepted back into the congregation after a certain amount of time has passed.

"the secret elder book with all its rules"
We are under many rules and laws in my country but at least I can find the rules and regulations. They are not hidden.
We are happified that WT has now made those hidden laws/rules available to the public via the ARC. I will be posting these on a separate link later today. Thank you WT!
