What would we all do if the watchtower collapsed tomorrow ?
by stan livedeath ini would probably collapse laughing.

It would no longer impact our daily lives. We would have some really devastated family members. Most on my spouses side are all Uber. They wouldn't know what to do without WT. No friends (non jw), no jobs and probably not a penny to their name. If WT went away, so would the titles, they would just die! -

A poll of sorts: How long have you been a "fader" for?
by SecretSlaveClass ini'm curious about the following:.
1) how long have you been a fader for?.
2) how often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness?.

1) How long have you been a fader for? 3years
2) How often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness? Not too much anymore. Pretty much told everyone to "buzz off."
3) What is the longest period you have ever known anyone to successfully fade? A successful fade in my view, would be someone who has faded for a period of time but no longer receives any pressure to return to active service (completely left alone). Don't know too many, if any.
4) If you have been a fader for more than two years, do you fear you would eventually have to face DA or DF?
Don't really care but they had better have a good reason in writing so I can forward to my attorney.
5) As faders, how many of you are being treated as if you were DF'd/DA'd? Haven't bumped into too many people. My spouses family still treats us the same (they don't know too much).
6) Have you faded rather than DA'd due to the possible loss family or is it because you have no network of friends outside the Org? N/A
7) If you consider yourself a fader how many meetings/assemblies/ field service groups do you still attend on average per month? None. Haven't stepped foot in KH in 3 years and won't.
8) As a fader do you feel that the Org is completely powerless over your life? Yup. They are just a bunch of high and mighty, narcissistic men. Nothing more.

Feeling A Bit Down Today
by jacobm inhey y'all, .
i'm not sure about you, but i occasionally get those days where i feel a bit down, as if i have no friends.
i do have a number of great friends, though, and am very thankful for them.. i think it might have to do with the residual programming of having a "worldwide brotherhood".

Sorry you are feeling down. We all get that way sometimes.
Just try and focus on the few good/true and unconditional friends you have. Maybe you could try and call one of those great friends and see if they want to meet up for a quick lunch or cup of coffee. Maybe that would help.
Keep in mind that all the JW friends had conditions. Unfortunately, that is not a friend.
Hang in there and know that you have ones who care and understand what you are going through.

"This convention seems designed more for those INSIDE the organisation rather than outsiders.."
Yup Stuck, they are trying to retain what they have left. It's nice to see them sweat. People ARE waking up!

Has anyone noticed the JW movies are trying to normalise their lifestyle?
by truthseeker inhaving watched the prodigal son returns movie produced by the organization and a recent mini-clip of a brother in london who is shown jogging and doing normal everyday things while wanting to "reach out" it occurred to me that the organization is trying to normalize their bizarre lifestyle and beliefs for the benefit of non-witnesses.. what do i mean by normalization?
they try to make the witnesses look like just another christian denomination who are reasonable while their members live and enjoy normal lives that appear to be within the mainstream.. they do this by not mentioning anything to do with higher education, armageddon or the urgency of the end of the world nor is their discussion or mention of the blood issue.
these are things mentioned often at kingdom halls and in study articles.. watching the prodigal son returns, the family appears to live a normal life, going to meetings and studying.

"JWs do do "normal" things, I don't know what you did when you were a JW, but all the families I know are pretty much like this."-
Nitty-Gritty is right JW's do normal things, for example, in our old hall Elders had their kids in college (even getting up on stage ready the anti Education Watchtower). Oh yeah...we also had one cheating on his wife. Oh yeah...and one with a violent temper.
That's right Nitty-Gritty they do normal things. Normal things for JW's ....BLATANT HYPOCRITES!
I guess we will hear you reply: "They are imperfect men." I'm so sick of hearing that one!

Hmmm.... an entire convention on Loyalty. Looks like a lot of people are being dis loyal. People are leaving and are angry. Just the title of the assembly tells me they are very worried. Remember what the March Broadcast says about removing the rafter from YOUR eye, not the other way around. The organization has done NOTHING, it's always YOUR fault . Remember that. lol
Let me guess, they will have a talk about your loyalty and giving your "first fruits". Which translates, "give us your money."

Did any of us ever enjoy meetings?
by stephanie61092 inthis is a legitimate question.
did any of us ever find real joy in being at the meetings?
did any of us ever finish a meeting and think "i feel so enriched"?

Heck no! Funny thing...I couldn't get to the liquor store or home fast enough to have a drink. Hmmm....don't feel that urge anymore. Wonder why? -

Great decision Pleaseresearch.
An Elder (COBE) tried several times to "meet" with us. I guarantee you, he had a bundle of rope in his rolley bag with the noose already set to go. No way, no how!
