"The Bunker" WT Conventions 2016 (Gag Me)
by Poztate inin the very near future the gang will be down in a bunker, cellar awaiting the police, military to break in and take them away to camps or executions .
(paranoid much) this is the foretold "prophecy" of the governments turning on religion and saving them for last.since the couple portrayed as simplifying their life by getting rid of a lot of material things is shown to be (about) the same age in the bunker we know it must be any minute now that it will happen.
i have been out for over 35 years and things seem to be getting more bizarre each year.. when did this doctrine really become main stream?

Wow... There More Closet Faders Than I Thought
by pale.emperor inyep, im still fading.
i know it's gonna be a long and meticulous process but so far it's going well.
isnt it funny how when you stop reading the material and stop thinking yourself of being unworthy all the time - eventually you get happier and happier each day and see the world around you the way it is?

"But what surprised me the most is that he told me of a very active couple we know who've left. No disassociated but stopped going entirely. Apparently they're not comfortable with the direction the borg is going and have concerns with the backtracking, deletions and distortions in the literature. This is a couple that you'd see on convention demos, interviews etc - the kind you'd see in the DVD's telling us how Jehovah has blessed them."
This is the stuff that excites us. Seeing the most loyal fading. It's wonderful and we look forward to hearing of more of these ones just disappearing. Poof...gone! So exciting!

JW's favorite catch phrases:
"Leave it in Jehovahs hands" Translation: We can't explain it either, don't worry about it. Shut the hell up.
"The organization if full of imperfect men." Translation: Get over it and move on. There is nothing we can do about it. Suck it up!
There are so many more. The funny thing about it. When one of the regular rank and file members are pulled into a JC and interrogated to the point of humiliation, NO ONE states the above catch phrases. They make a decision over your entire life, DF or reprove you and publically humiliate you in front of the entire congregation. Then 2 or so weeks later they give a talk to the congregation, letting all know the sin you committed.
BUT when you know some higher ups or have money and can some how benefit the cult, they will say the above catch phases and life goes on. Or if you are an elder and have sinned in the past and some time has passed, and you bring that sin to the Elders you get a free pass (see the Elders handbook page 38, paragraph 19 & 20. That's fair?

Imagine, you have to use fear tactics to keep your mate/significant other loyal to you. Yeah, that relationship has a snowball's chance in hell of being a successful one.
I find it exciting that they are using the fear. It shows that they are worried about keeping ones loyal. On the other hand, it worries me. What Sir82 wrote: "I fear this will send the more mentally unstable JWs over the edge. "

Someone anonymously tipped the elders?
by raven inso here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.
anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.
and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

Raven,
Please tell your mother. Your attorney has advised you. You will not be meeting with the elders unless your attorney is present. A written statement from your accuser(s) must be presented to your attorney three weeks before any meeting. Please provide the name(s) of all elders that will be present during the meeting.
Don't give them control. It is your life and you have rights too! They hate it when you mention lawyer or attorney.
Enjoy your life !

JW said they are unique
by StephaneLaliberte inlooking at a news article, i read the following:.
“that’s one thing that’s unique about jehovah’s people,” said marty mettler, a spokesman for the green bay convention.
“they even tell the hotels when they book they’re coming because some people book and don’t show.

I am currently sitting here watching the news. Each day I see stories of evil "worldly people" that are trying to help others that they don't even know. People that are collecting items or money for ones who have lost everything. The JW's act like they are the only ones who assist others. I have come to the conclusion that if they came out of their cocoon they would realize there is good and bad everywhere. There are good JW's and the not so good JW's. This applies to the world in general. They can not and will not look beyond the JW world they are involved in. I truly believe it is an obsession. -

For all of the Lurkers out there that are being held hostage by this organization, due to family and friends. VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS. If you can't outwardly "stick it" to this organization that has abused and continues to abuse so many, DON'T DONATE! The best revenge is to hit em in the wallet!
I think donations are down and doubts are up. That is a good thing!

How was your wedding?
by BeautifulMind inhow was your wedding?
did you have a jw wedding or something different?
my wedding was not what either of us wanted at first, but it turned out very lovely.

We had a full on JW wedding. 300+ in attendance. Had fun. It was in the 80's when JW's seemed more caring and supportive. No judgement on your spirituality (the JW tasks you perform). Life seemed simpler and more like a family. Sad how things have changed. The organization has created little monsters.
The status we had before we left (losers) would have never been accepted in this day and age.
What a sad thing to have to write!
