If you spend time in the Corporate environment, these guys/women are a dime a dozen. The difference with "Brother" Morris is he holds a Bible in his hand while he rants.

Why couldn't they have had the same stance with the political cards in Malawi? Why were sisters raped and people killed due to this. How senseless.

it seams like every time i turn around i find out that the elders are trying to meet with one of my kids or are talking with them about things and of course my wife is instigating it.
if i say anything to my children she mentions something and they come running.
one of the ms's is also studying with them as well.
I agree with Millie210. Kids are smart. We have planted little seeds in our children and they seem to get it. You don't have to bombard your children with facts, just plant things over time.
I would also make sure the Elders know that regardless if you are attending meetings or not, you are still the head of your house and they need to tread lightly. Be tactful but firm. They need to respect you no matter the circumstances. Some of these Elders try to use intimidation, push back and you may be surprised how some (not all) head for the hills. I have tried this with some of the Nazi Elders, it works.
i'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.
We have family members who took the 1969 article to heart and pioneered. Now they are living on social security and working menial hard jobs in their golden years (ugh!). There is alot of resentment there! They all encourage us to let our kids go to college.
We believe this is why so many JW's are putting their kids in college. Mother doesn't like the disobedience. Too bad mother!!!
if you, like me, have noticed the sudden increase in hysteria in the khs right now, i put it down to that jw tv site.
its's far more extensive than i thought it was, i thought it was just 1, 1 hour program a month.
there's a s*** load of videos on that site.. and the real problem, from just watching a clip from each video, is that these guys are clearly "mentally unstable".
It's all New to them! Like a new toy. Jehovah is really speeding up the work! How many times do we hear this?
It will loose it's newness soon. Just like the new Bible (Silver Sword) and the International Conventions...they will get over it.
I think they are trying to strain out the Fence Sitters and Faders. They are in the midst of building their new Headquarters and I hope they realize that with the Fence sitters and Faders goes the $$$$$$.
Once the new Headquarters is complete they will Hunker Down and have that facility so secure Jesus couldn't get in.
over the years, i knew some individuals that were pretty bad witnesses.
they broke more commandments that most.
TONS of them!!! As long as they kept up appearances, all was fine. If it was a blatant offence (the whole congregation knew) then they would DF or Public/private reproof. If they are in the in crowd or buddies with the right elders/CO's, they'd be back in toot sweet.

This choir thing has really bothered us. Also, the singing and dancing at the Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls during the District Convention (or whatever you call in now). We couldn't even play a "worldly song" at our wedding 32+ years ago?
Like others have said...."what happened to the religion we were born into"? One day it's a sin, the next day not so much. What else are the JW's being misdirected in? Maybe...not going to college, buying a house, having a child, getting a job to support your family or getting married (I could go on and on).

i was sitting at the meeting the other night and for the first time it hit, jw talks or magazines are never uplifting!
i rarely, if ever hear a talk or read a magazines and have it give nothing but praise to jehovahs servants or just praise jehovah and jesus throughout it.
they never just a read through the bible or just a bible story explained or told.
They had a perfect opportunity to up build during the Zone (zoned out) meeting. They had over 1 million people listening and the final talk was on tight pants, 23 yr. old MS's, and Spanx? With all the problems everyone is facing, this is what they choose to discuss?
If you go into a sales pitch and conclude on a negative note, you won't sell much! I wonder if their donation boxes suffered that weekend. Seemed like alot of people were disturbed over that talk.
The one thing that keeps us going is that they will NEVER receive any more of our donations, time or energy. Now we can spend it on having a GREAT life!
today i called to my sister and she told me that two elders went to her house to announce her that a judicial committe is waiting her in the kingdom hall this friday.
she told them that she will confirm if she will go.
however, i have told her that she shouldn't go, instead she should ask them to write a formal letter, with signatures, asking her for which charges she should be submitted in a private room with two men (or three?
