9Been a while!
by lambsbottom injust wanted to say thank you to all of you for everything over the last 3.5 years.
i am completely faded now.
i no longer suffer from major anxiety/depression, well versed on cults and how to protect myself, continually searching and taking in knowledge regarding my own relationship with god.

) and bethel as a destination vacation.. after the initial bewilderment and laughing about his diatribe, it is more clear to me that this was not about modest clothing choices, or spiritual priorities.. it was designed and succeeded as a slap in the face of all who listened.. the things he talked about are just not on the normal radar of anyone who listened.. i can recall nowhere in writing that ever encouraged families to go to bethel before disneyworld, mgm, etc; nowhere that talks about leggings or modern cut men's suits (it is just fashion, after all), or women wearing exercise clothing in public.
(on a side note, i have been to assemblies, there are just not many of us who could wear tight clothing and not look like stuffed sausage, so how many people was he aiming at here?).

The entire Governing Body knew the talk Morris was going to give @ the Zone Mtg (he gave it in Italy a few months prior in the US). They allowed it to happen, just as much as Morris.
I equate it to Bodies of Elders who allow things to go on in the Congregation(s,) that they themselves condemn. They sanctioned it and are just as guilty for doing so.
That talk was given to insult the R&F. It's almost like it was done on purpose. I think they are pushing the Fence Sitters and only want the Ubers.
They pushed these fence sitters right over the edge. Thanks GB...you did us a tremendous favor! Never been happier!

there were these two couples at our dinner table that were having an all out pissing competition as to who was the most spiritual.
they were comparing who was in "the truth" the longest, who pioneered where and for how long.

The old "spiritual competition"! These people are so insecure. Once they run off all the thinkers/common sense people these types of people (the competitors) with devour one another. Have you ever seen 2 Alpha Dogs in a cage together? -

Jw wedding talk giving questionable advice as usual
by hoser ini recently went to a wedding and listened to the wedding talk at the kingdom hall the couple had both heard the talk before as they were both married in kingdom halls before.
this is his second time and her third.

We agree 100% OneEyedJoe! This is why we have survived for 32+ years together. We both respect and take the other into consideration when we decide things.
I have seen so many wives in the org who have a WTF look on their face. Then you see how the husband treats her. Some of the wives treat their husbands poorly too. The road goes both ways.

Elders Starting To Poke Around... Advice?

the elders haven't shown an interest in my absence until now.
today, i have received phone calls from two elders as well as a friend.

We were ignored before we left then some elders and family started poking around.
Ignore them. Don't answer the door or return their calls. If you happen upon one of them tell them you are doing fine and if you need them you know where to find them. Use the sick, depressed or busy work schedule excuses. NEVER tell them how you really feel. They WILL hang you. They can't hang you if you give them nothing to hang you with. This is how we have played it. Don't worry they will forget about you soon enough. Play the game your way and don't allow them to bully or abuse you. You ARE in control.
You are in a fortunate situation, you have no family in.

buzzing on 4 beers and 1 bourbon and coke.

I used to drink after the meetings (alot). I know how you feel Cappytan. Once I left I now enjoy an occasional glass of wine. I REALLY enjoy that glass. I no longer need a straw in my bottle of wine. It's a wonderful feeling.
It goes to show the the effects of this cult. I know lots of alcoholics that are still in.
