  JW's and the care of the elderly

  i've been df'd for 35 years and my uber pioneer mother is getting on in years, 84 to be exact and starting to have signs of dementia and the social worker is worried that she can't be left alone at all anymore.

  she just had her second hip replaced and is in rehab.

  my uber elder cousin is the power of attorney since my mom was told i couldn't be trusted since i'm df'd.

  Yeah we have still in family that went the JW route, pioneering, bethel, etc. Guess what? They are all BROKE! Now as they are getting older they are looking to the ones who got some education/well paying jobs to help them out. Some are looking to any source they can to foot the bill. So in one breath they condemn you but in the next breath they need some help with your "dirty" college money. lol

  "Lets imitate faithful Lot of old...."

  i know we have all discussed at length the account / story of lot.... another thought occurred to me today...lets analyse his real personality,.

  in the very beginning of the account, lot is shown to be a selfish man...one that chose the better land and area..... then he was opportunistic and materialistic and kept living in a nice city, even though he was supposedly shocked by the immorality and lawlessness..... then we see him to be cowardly when he decided to send out his daughters to be pack raped.. later we learn he was heartless as he allowed his wife to turn around and look, and didnt protect her from doing so.. then we know he was lacking in self control and allowed himself to get drunk...twice.. then we know he was dismissive and unrestrained and a general sicko when he had sex with his daughters...twice in a row!.

  oh, but no...lets all praise him for being a righteous man.????!!!.

  Sound familiar?

  Molest little innocent children and you can be an Elder again. But look at porn and BAMM you're DF'd.

  atlantis provided a uk branch letter regarding a 3 levy per publisher to pay for the britain branch c.o.s 85 new cars.

  Lynnie you are in a great position to remind the congregation, your loving mother and cousin's that you are to be treated as if you were dead to them. This is how they have treated you for the past 35+ years. This is no longer your responsibility. They made their choice now they have to live with it.

  This sounds harsh but what goes around comes around. I would make sure they ALL know how you feel and that their behavior is DISGUSTING.

  I am sorry that your family has treated you unkind. No one deserves the shunning. The best revenge is a happy and successful life.

  i told the brothers i was not ready for that assignment.

  Welcome Doctor Who. There seems to be ALOT of people waking up.

  Yes...they hypocrisy is off the chain. It's all about appearances. If you LOOK spiritual and know all the right people, all is ok. We had an Elder in our hall (when we were still drinking the Kool Aid) who looked spiritual but oops got caught with his pants down (literally). We knew something was up with him for years. He sat in judgement of everyone else while he was carrying on with women. He was on a judicial committee with some good friends of ours all while he was playing hide the salami. He was a total ass to our friends who were going through alot.

  Wait until you learn TTATT (The Truth About the Truth). We suggest you read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz and also visit JW Facts. You will learn so much. The hypocrisy goes so much further than what goes on a the Kingdom Hall. This is why we made our exit. Read the past threads on here, so many new ones are joining and the fortunate ones who got out years ago can really help you through what will be a incredible eye opening experience.
