The JW's are little fish in a VERY big pond. No one really notices them. They are legends in their own minds! -

All for Show
You are dead on! People can find trouble anywhere. We have always told our kids that you have choices in life, good or bad. It's up to them to decide, once they become adults.
This cult drives the sheeple with fear and guilt. The only reason they do it is because people allow it. Follow the money trail. Watchtower is a wealthy corporation. Vote with your wallets!!!! I know for a fact a lot of active JW's have quit donating. Including us...no more time or money!

Seeking support during confusing and stressful 'cognitive dissonance'
by LHS123 insorry for the long post but i need help.
ive been a jw for 20 years - still active and attending meetings, baptised at 18, i have recently become very dissillusioned.
a few reasons: ill treatment of my kids by a prominent 'assembly speaker' elder, then my son left the truth at 15 (not baptised) and was 'dropped' instantly, despite this community having been his whole life for 15 years.

Mass Killer Joseph McEnroe stops studying with Jehovah's Witnesses after talking to elders
by jwleaks inon 25 march 2015 joseph mcenroe was found guilty of the 2007 mass killing of six members of his then-girlfriend's family, including two young children aged 3 and 5. a jury is currently deciding whether he should be executed.. associated press has recently reported that.... mcenroe confirmed that he felt some sort of acceptance with jehovah's witnesses until he told elders he didn't have a guilt-free conscience.
he stopped studying to be a minister.. mcenroe was quoted as stating the reason why he stopped studying being that.... "i felt that i had failed and that i had been rejected by god at that point.".

I don't know how some of the Elders sleep at night. Not one mention in the letter about the victims or their families.
If there are lurkers on here...don't you see something wrong here? All these posts with BOE letters always mention how the congregation has to protect itself and WTBS. No mention of the victims and their families. That should tell you something.
I agree with TheOldHippie. They form a committee for pot smoking but if he murdered someone, well it's up to his conscience to come forward. WTF?

So, let me get this straight. The Elders want to meet with you and your husband? For what? Giving your two cents on getting an Education to the kids in the Congregation? Really?
In our Hall we had servants (MS and Elders) who had their kids in a 4 year college! These "servants" were very proud of it too. So these jerks are going to counsel you?
So a brother who reaches out to become a servant has to get 10 hours in service to pray, hold a mic or read a Watchtower on Sunday but a Elder or MS who has their kid in a 4 year college can remain a Servant?
Don't get me wrong...I'm all for further Education. It's the blatant hypocrisy of this cult I have an issue with!
This is BS!!!
Don't meet with them! You owe them NOTHING!!!! Don't give them the power over you!

"Your good example is much needed for the young ones the congregation."
by Yondaime inhey guys n gals, sorry its been such a long time since i've posted.
lately i've been very busy balancing between my school work and cult activities.
since i've been doing pretty well "spiritually"(enough field-circus hours, attending meetings, underlining my literatrash, reading, praying and serving as the mic-master) my coordinator grabbed me to the side after a meeting and talked to me for twenty minutes straight congratulating me about how good i am doing.. then he paused for a good five seconds and got all serious.. then he proceeded to tell me that the young ones in the hall aren't doing too well.

Yondaime....you rock! Sorry you have to put up with your charade, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
You just have to ask yourself the question, if they ask you to be a servant. Where is the holy spirit? It just goes to show you what a joke all of the holy spirit garbage is.
Keep us posted.

Welcome LHS123. What you are going through is something we all experienced here. It is overwhelming. We have been out for 2+ years. It get's better everyday.
The best advise I can give you is take one day at a time and don't rush things. DON'T and I mean DON'T trust anyone JW with what you know. Most will go to the Elders, thinking that they are helping you (snatching you from the fire). This is a mistake. If you need to vent, come on here and communicate with us. We have all had different journeys but the ultimate outcome has been the same. Escape (mentally and physically)!
Don't let your daughter get baptized. She is too young and now that you know what you know (TTATT), you have to do your best to get her out too.
This is a lot to deal with but keep researching and reading old posts. It's amazing the things we have learned over the years. The hypocrisy and double standards are unbelievable. We left due to the lack of love, hypocrisy and abuse of members/family. Once we left we learned TTATT. There is no turning back and we will never return.
We also observed the abuse some of the Elders laid upon one of our children. It's no wonder the JW youth decide to jump ship once they turn 18 (or sooner).
Do not write off non JW's. There are some very nice/kind people out there. They are not all wicked and unloving. We have been taught all our lives that anything non JW is a wicked sin. The only wicked sin I ever committed was raising my children in an unloving cult.
If you haven't read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz, I would suggest you do so. It's an eye opener.
We are all here for you. Never stop learning and researching. You will be amazed at what you find!
Keep us posted on your progress.

Elders' Authority - Flock Book
by berrygerry inthe biggest surprise in the flock book was the hiding-for 3-years serious sin absolution provision for elders (if with "jehovah's evident blessing").. the second is the remark regarding an inactive person, and the situation:.
"is the person willing to meet with a committee, thus admitting accountability to the christian congregation?".
now, the bible says: i want you to know that the head of every man is the christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the christ is god.

"Jehovahs name can be kept out of this very dirty situation."
Wow....this is ALL they care about. Who care's about the minors involved? Not them! Let's sweep it under the rug and forget about it. Not one mention in that letter about the children or families involved or warning the Congregation about a Pedo in their midst.
Everyday I read or hear something so unbelieveable that I think, "I'm am so happy to be out of this cult disguised as a religion." This letter is beyond disgusting and is my additional confirmation today that I am glad to be FREE (along with my immediate family)!

It looks like a lot of JW's are leaving due to hurt feelings and lack of love! This is a good thing. If it wasn't happening, they would not be discussing it.
There is also a scripture that says that love would be the identifying mark of a true Christian. Funny...they did not mention that scripture.
Hmmm!
