Has anyone watched the What is true love new release video?

It was a hard watch. Long...1:13!

The morale of the story is the same in every video they do. If you leave Jehovah your life will go to sh**. The couple was portrayed as materialistic, the husband became a workaholic and a**hole (was a nice guy at the beginning of the video). Even the wife wore heavy make up, jewelry and oh my god...High heels! I bet she wears Spanx too! Evil!

The good JW's were the perfect little examples. Wife, no make up, plain Jane clothes and flats. They didn't take any additional jobs that would earn them any real money. The put the organization (oops...I mean Jehovah) first.

The same ole, same ole. Good versus evil....you bad, we good.

This video will certainly stroke the egos to the Ubers and shame the Sisters who don't pursue a spiritual man (aka....a JW task master)!

i apologize for how rantish this is but please hear me out.

anyways i'm a 15 year old girl and i've never really wanted to be a jw.

its just never been something thats made me feel happy or loved.

I experienced similar things growing up in this cult @ the same age as you. It is a very lonely place. The only thing that saved me was meeting my best friend and mate in life early on. Keep focused on your education. Education is what will allow you to go on your own and rely on yourself. Three years will go by quickly. Rely and trust in yourself. You can do ANYTHING you set your mind too. Play the game to get your education and once you do, move on and take care of yourself.

I know this sounds selfish but take care of yourself. NO ONE else will do that for you.

What do all these new releases mean?

1. Donations are down.

2. People are leaving "the truth." Oh no!

3. Sisters are marrying unbaptized or evil worldly men.

This is great! We don't have to do a thing, the GB/organization are doing it all for us. Beautiful!!!

Keep up the great work GB, you are putting the nail in your own coffin.

We are 27 minutes into the what is true love video. We will watch the remainder of it later today. So far it is exactly as expected...Judgmental and has the JW spin on everything. So predictable!

Oh my God that is disgusting! "You know Sophia, do you REALLY want that ice cream when you could give your last quarter to us." Damn, they are shameless and pathetic! How many little kids want to give up their ice cream to drop their quarter in a box at the KH? Good lord this is sickening!

Witnesses called for a bible study

hello all.. i haven't been here for some time to post as mainly i read the comments and such.

yesterday was a really interesting, unnerving experience though.

two sisters had called last week when i had an abscess on my tooth and was sort of sick from it.

They may not show up and if they do they will leave quickly once they can't answer your questions or you start making valid points. They will leave and talk in the car how you are lost or weak. It's ALWAYS your fault, no matter what! It's the JW way!

Dwindling Attendance? Here's a quick fix!....

so here's a real life experience you will get a kick out of.. our kh has about 90 publishers.

typical meeting attendance during a co visit is right at 100 or so.

the rest of the time, attendance is a dismal 50-60, sometimes 70 on a good week!.

We are so glad to hear attendance is down! We have not been to a meeting in over 2 years and wondered if the attendance was down. Thanks for the info. We are happified!

What triggered your doubts / awakening?

i am sort of new here, used a different username for a while but things got 'difficult' at home so i've since been lurking.... what i would be really interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, is what it was that triggered your doubts and initial research which led to awakening, was it a bad experience, injustice, changed doctrine?

for me, it was seeing mistreatment of young ones in the congregation, they're under so much pressure and as soon as they go even slightly astray they are shunned, either informally (as bad associations which pushes them further into the 'world') or formally - with elders dying to throw the book at them so they even lose their family.... ...then reading about child abuse issues in the press.... ...which led me to silentlambs.

...then jw facts, this forum and coc, wham!

Bingo!!!! We NEVER went to the Elders with problems or issues. Never trusted them...never will!!!

The total lack of love is what got us out. They hypocrisy is incredible!

I learned about Beth Sarim and how Rutherford was living in luxury and driving around in Cadillacs. I was taught that we never begged for money like the churches (ironic after May's broadcast). Once I found out about Beth Sarim things changed in my mind. "The truth" was not as it appeared to be.

We then started to read Crisis of Conscience and that was it for us. It was an Ahh Haa moment for us. We always thought something wasn't right but couldn't put our finger on it. Once we read COC and read what others on this forum had experienced we high tailed it out.

We decided for our families well being it was time to go. Our life has improved tremendously! No more judgement and abuse!!!
