$10 per pub. Money begging session last night
by StarTrekAngel inlast night, during our "christian life and ministry" meeting, we had a session on local needs.
elder opened the talk with a disclaimer saying that this was a reminder (cited psalms about how david loved jehovahs reminders).
he reminded us of how bless we are of having our own local assembly hall.

My spouse never reached out for any position and I never pioneered so we were pretty much the sludge at the bottom of the pond. BUT we thought (key work here is thought) we were in Jehovahs organization, right? WRONG! It's all about WHO you are and if you do all the tasks than they can label you a "spiritual person."
This cult is nothing more than a corporation and social club. We choose to no longer participate and have NEVER been happier!

Honestly, Did Jehovah's Witnesses Do Anything POSITIVE For You?
by minimus ini was raised as a witness and am very thankful that i am out.
having said that, i think my upbringing produced positive qualities in me.
do you believe that anything positive came from your being a witness?

I would not have met my spouse and had 2 great kids together. Only thing I can think of.
My story growing up in this cult has made me a not very trusting person. I can make friends but I always expect people to let me down. I am working on that one.

A conversation with my dad
by magotan ini talked to my dad today, after i text him when i was angry after a night out.
i'm starting to get closure on my parents relationship with regards to me.the dynamic between them versus me is abusive.
my dad didn't think i had any reason to be bitter.he said i chose to leave "jehovahs people" and this is what i should expect as treatment.

I think a lot of the older ones are scared and frustrated. Their paradise has not showed up. They are starting to realize they are going to die.Sad

Finally posting and I'm FRUSTRATED!!!
by stephanie61092 inokay, i'm about to engage in a major word vomit.
just giving you fair warning as your time may be better spent somewhere else.. so, i'm sitting on my lunch break, bawling my eyes out, and writing on this forum to people i don't know yet probably have a great deal in common with but at the same time, used to scare the daylights out of me.
for years, i would come across this forum and 'lurk' awhile if you will, or see things on youtube.

So glad to have read your well written post. You are on a journey and a tough one at that. We have all been through it and it is a long road. It does get better. The loss of family is something NO ONE should have to experience.
It is good you are getting therapy. We all understand what you are feeling. Take time to process everything and it will get better. Take one day at a time.
Hugs to you.

Slow motion pioneers
by 1Averagejoe inobserving our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.
along the way it's gossipy this and that.
pioneers?

We have several full time pioneers in our family. Trust me...if pioneering was hard work, this bunch would be the last to sign up. The laziest bunch you have EVER seen! Would not know hard work if it came up and bit them. I guess it beats the hell out of working for those "evil worldly people" that actually pay you for a days work. lol -

Do you ever contact those who shun you?
by Xanthippe indo you ever test the water and see if your relatives or friends still feel the same way?
i don't have mobile phone numbers or email addresses for my family because we left a long time ago.

These ungrateful "family" members will only contact you when THEY need you. Like when they need money or someone to take care of them in their old age. Scum bags!!! -

"WONDER HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF POOR BROTHERS ARE IN THIS POSITION! I"
I am thinking a lot of people are in your boat. Damn cult! I never listened to them (I was a weak one). We had 2 great kids. Wouldn't change a single decision.
Good luck (I'll go to hell for that one)! I wish you all the best with the IVF. Keep us posted!
I think there are also a lot who are struggling financially as well. Those ones who pioneered back in the day because the end is just around the corner. We have several in our own family scrapping by and working hard in their old age. Thank you Watchtower!

Heck no! Don't want them to be in my life if they don't want to be. I agree with the comment above...it's their loss! Good riddance!
