"Don't make mountains out of molehills"
by stephanie61092 induring the talk today, the speaker said, in reference to apostates, "don't make mountains out of molehills" and "all those who are do good to look up isaiah 43:18.
" to save you trouble, it says: "do not remember the former things, and do not dwell on the past.".
i'd like to see him read that scripture to the victims of the hundreds and hundreds of abuse cases the arc has unveiled from over the past 50 years.

I have seen many JWs who share this same attitude UNTIL it happens to them. When something earth shattering happens or they feel they have been unfairly treated, the tables turn. Molehills turn into mountains for sure! -

Why dont you go to the memorial?
by atomant inl guess we all have our own reasons and thought it would give insight to others considering going to reconsider and not go.

I don't hang out or attend events where I feel that I am not wanted. I refuse to attend just to boost their numbers.

I thought this would be a good thread to bump.
Two years later, is anyone seeing Elders still stepping/or wanting to step down?

Not that I'm complaining but I'm wondering if something is up
by joe134cd ini have physically not attended a meeting in 3 years and knew ttatt for about 6-18 months before that.

I told my spouse if we want them to stay away we can't complain when they don't come by. They are doing what we want them to do...staying away. I just find it facinating that when they go from door to door they don't leave the invitation to the memorial. Why do you spend all that time, why not leave the invite. Makes zero sense. -

JW Videos
by HowTheBibleWasCreated inmy belief is that the jw organization is moving towards video teaching.
at the last convention a mini jesus movie was created.
today watching the jw video on 'older ones' is the famous widow in the temple scene with the same actor for jesus.. are they slowly and carefully making a jesus movie?.

By doing the videos, the GB can control the cult. No more rouge Elders putting their 2 cents and personal opinions into their parts and talks. It's all about the power, control and oh yes....Follow the money! -

I have not attended in 3 years. This will be my spouses first year not attending. Does not want to be included in the head count. Hopefully, the numbers will drop significantly in 2016. If we can contribute in this Cults demise, it would be an honor. -

Talking to a wall
by ivanatahan inwhy must these people be figurative walls when talking about the lies of the jw cult?.
the other day, i had a conversation with my mother.
we started talking about the election and how the candidates differ (me being a supporter of bernie).

We have the same experiences with our family. We have decided just not to go there anymore. Like you said...it's like talking to the wall. Frustrating! Sometimes my spouse just switches the subject. -

The memorial beauty pageant
by BlackWolf insince the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!
the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.
in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.

We had a sister, years ago, that told us her husband "did not allow her to buy a new dress. That would be too much like following the Easter traditions and copying the world."
He may have been right. It is kinda like the JW Easter. The disturbing thing is her husband "told her". My husband would be wearing a frying pan over his head. lol
