Circuit Overseer say. . .
by Ringo inlast night i had to suffer through the bs spouted by the new co. some garbage about the bible transforming us as people.
he went on and on about how we can look good to people at the hall who see the outside, but the bible will tell us what we are inside.. then he proceeded to use a few select verses to say sex is bad and so is the desire for it.
a healthy bank account or savings is wrong, shouldn't have that either.

Typical CO. Out of touch with reality. I wonder how he would do if the JW's were not supporting him and his wife. Could he Pioneer, volunteer at Warwick? He would be hauling his ass to work everyday like the rest of us. So out of touch. All of the CO's are! -

Bringing children into this System of Things.
by Nihilistic Journey inbefore i left a number of years ago i remember getting bombarded with the message that we shouldn't have children as it wasn't fair to them.
they would have to grow as conditions got worse during the end.
is there anything in the literature or was this just through talks.

Having kids is the best decision we made. We couldn't imagine our lives without them. Is it worth the challenges? Hell yeah!
I find it sad that so many couples, that would have made wonderful parents, skipped that part of their lives because a bunch of out of touch with reality old men said so. It truly is sad!

They don't really say too much about it anymore. Although, we have not been to the hall in 3 years. New light may be in play (who knows).
I remember years back they had a talk, "responsible child bearing." After the talk was given, it seemed like we saw more pregnant sisters than ever. lol
Now we see many couples in their 50's who thought the new system would be here and forfeited having kids. Now I believe they regret it.
Thanks WT! Just another rule/opinion from Mother.

Hubby got asked the loyalty questions
by atacrossroads inafter hubby skipped out on the memorial his parents and close friends started getting more assertive with him.
before they took on the role of the concerned let me rescue you from your apostate wife's clutches.
it's 100% my fault he stopped being a witness according to the inlaws.

When they ask you the loyalty question, they smell blood. They HAVE to "out" you. It's almost like they WANT you out.
If you don't care, answer honestly. If you have too much to loose...don't give them anything. Play the game YOUR way, not theirs.
Like you said...."it's a cult." It's what they do. Sad but true.

Fade question: New Cong or stay.

No matter what your decision is, eventually they will leave you alone. Once the cat trys to play with the mouse and the mouse plays dead (no fun), the cat will move on.
This is what happened to us. Give em nothing, they will move on in time!

I think it depends on the hall you decide to move in. Some halls have lazy elders who could care less that you left, so they won't bother you. Some halls have Nazi Elders.
We had lazy Elders, so for the most part they left us alone. Our problem became that we could not stomach the hypocrisy anymore so just started missing meetings and assemblies. It took us about a year to stop reporting time. Wow...life if now good and it is great to make new ("worldly") friends that like you for who you are and don't judge.

what do you think is the main reason why so many young ones are waking up?
by Crazyguy inseems as though the number of baptisms even for the young ones is down from what people report here.
at my former hall the young ones are all in totally sheltered even while going to school.
expressing thier desires to pioneer etc.

We have a high schooler. The schools are teaching critical thinking skills, something the JW's don't teach.
The kids also see straight through the JW hypocrisy. These kids have been born equipped with a laptop/I pad. Telling these kids not to go on the worldwide web is like telling a fish it needs no water.

Thanks for the report.
Did they read the accounts report? You know how much this assembly cost us. We have a deficit?
