Stay in the Boat
by stuckinarut2 ininteresting video from the mormans.... it sounds so much like a witness illustration!.

I wonder if the would let you "stay in the boat" if you gave NO money?
Me thinks NOT!
The only truthful thing the JW's have stated..."religion is a snare and a racket."

"do not go beyond the things written"
by stuckinarut2 inthanks to bu2b and splash who mentioned this quote in another thread!.
but i thought it deserved a thread all of its own, such is the impact of this:.
the very best example of going beyond the things written comes from a 2008 watchtower.

I know what you mean. They constantly go beyond what is written.
It reminds me of the Regional Convention program. One talk is titled "Shun unrepentant ones" and the next talk is "Be Forgiving." You just have to laugh!
JW's the BIGGEST HYPOCRITES EVER!

by LisaRose ini found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.

The Big House Forced Exodus
by ttdtt inlong video i guess addressing the many hard feelings of people getting the axe at brooklyn and other facilities.. the gist is - thanks for your help, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
or scripturally saying - "keep warm and well fed"p.s.
they are admitting that the are letting older ones go.. http://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodprogramsevents/pub-jwbrd_201605_5_video.

The "funniest" part of the entire talk. The entire outline was dealing with change and changes are good. Then at the end, he stated we know Jehovah is always there for us. He never changes! Huh! Jehovah never changes? Well his org. sure does! -

They don't care how the ones are "warm and well fed." The only thing they are worried about is that they themselves are "warm and well fed."
So many gave up careers, kids, marriage, etc., to sacrifice and spend their lives in Bethel service. Now where are they to return? Back to the congregation, for the rank and file to take care of. Like others have mentioned, the money and benefits only go one way...to the top. So much for the sacrifice.

I so wish this video was realistic.
What the JW's portray and what really happens in "the time of need" are two different things.
Our experience during a difficult time goes 100% opposite of the video portrayed. If the Elders are not there for you when times are good, for the majority of the JW's, how are they going to be there for everyone when things are REALLY falling apart?
They are loosing their grip on people. JW's are on the internet reading so many negative things about their own beliefs, they are sending their kids to college and pursuing other enjoyments in life. It's like the little boy who cried wolf. The org is loosing credibility and they know it. How do they get people back in? FEAR, GUILT AND OBLIGATION. This video will work great on most of the people in our family, who are straying away.

Isn't it wonderful how, even now, Jehovah helps his people? Prayer is so powerful.
by paul from cleveland in“i have to thank jehovah god for this,” serena williams told the crowd after receiving the trophy at the australian open in january, her sixth win there.
“i was down and out and he helped me today and i just said prayers”.

"I only need ask them why it took them years to notice i was gone, where are all my good friends, where was my support system for my kids and broken marriage when i needed"
My question exactly. Why do they come around AFTER you leave. They don't give a rat's a** about you while you were in. They spend so much "time" on complete strangers but none on family and friends. The cracks are starting to show, with the amount of young ones leaving. We are also seeing long time active witnesses heading for the exit or just putting on a show to keep their social network. We have faded for approx. 3 years. Not one of my "girlfriends" (this includes family/female members) has tried to "encourage" me. Not one of my kids "friends" has tried inviting them anywhere. Once you leave, you are no longer worth the dirt on their shoes. Good riddance to them all! Life is too short to sit around and wait for any sort of love or encouragement. Go out and enjoy life! Looking forward to a stress free weekend with my family.
