I know how I felt when I learned TTATT. My hope was taken away. The good thing about my realization is, I was still in my 40's and I had my spouse by my side. These older ones are 20-30+ years older than me. There life is pretty much set in stone. At least my spouse and I were still fairly young and our kids were young enough as well. I feel bad for many of the older ones. They thought they had it all figured out. I guess we did too. The difference....we were young enough to start over and live our lives. Sad.

Being a JW is like a hamster running on a Hamster wheel. They just keep running, never getting anywhere. No paradise, that they have been promised (over and over again). Just the same ole same ole. I believe that there are some 60-70 year old JW's that are coming to the realization (for the very first time) that they are going to die. It's tough for them to come to terms with. We actually had a family member tell us that they don't believe the end will come in their lifetime. WT has taken peoples hope away.
I agree with nonjwspouse. Smile and let em know how happy you are living life. Like Doc says...."living a happy and successful life is the best revenge."

They want to have a "shepherding call" with me, but here's the twist...
by Captain Schmideo2 ini got it before 8 in the morning on a work day, as a text message.
nothing beats a warm invitation for spiritual encouragement than a quick electronic message.. sheesh.....

Tell them you can only do the shepherding call between 9am-5pm Monday thru Friday. If they can't count the time (late evenings, Saturday or Sunday) they will not typically come (unless they are retired). Also, mention to them that you are having financial problems and may need to borrow money. Guaranteed...you will never hear back! lol

Our Kingdom Hall was sold to a church several years ago. One day dedicated to Jehovah, the next day turned over to Christendom.
So I can't do any work on a church or enter one for a wedding or funeral but WT can sell one to be used as a church? This is the epitome of hypocrisy! It sickens me.

What should I do?
by Tameria2001 inhello everyone, it's been quite a while since i was last on this forum.
originally i was under a different user name, but lost all that information when i moved to a different state.
anyways, i had left the jws back in 2001, after being raised up in it most of my childhood life.

Lisarose had a great response.
If you decide not to attend, I would let both parties know why you will not show. Make sure you use the word hypocrite, when explaining it to the JW's. Oh, by the way, why are the JW's "mixing company" with the evil "worldly" family members?

If you want to go...go. Tell the family members if you are invited, you will leave when you feel like leaving. If the JW relatives don't like it then THEY can leave or opt not to go. I wouldn't play their games.
Welcome back!

"No wonder this year's convention has that awful Bunker video! Yeap the round up is about to begin and the WT knows it!"
Spot on rebelfighter! The GB knows that the jig is up. The ARC will be coming to bite them in the a**, along with all the law suits. The bunker video's are just a tool to prepare the oblivious rank and file for the publicity that the cult will receive, once this all comes to a head. WT will then use the "persecution card". They have been lining this up for years.

Sad for the children involved. So much for the "holy spirit" choosing and guiding these men.

Why isn't the Boston Globe doing a better job?
by Londo111 inhttps://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/regionals/north/2016/06/29/who-are-jehovah-witnesses-who-live-among/z39a6dvdcp5lvufo7y7ozo/story.html.
why isn't the boston globe doing a better job covering this group?.
after all, the movie spotlight won an oscar about this paper and their groundbreaking journalism into the catholic church covering child abuse.

A piece of journalism that DOES NOT cover the entire topic. It happens a lot in journalism. Like someone said, nothing about blood and shunning. I guess it depends on who the journalist interviews. We all could tell them a thing or two.
