but what amazes me is her jw family is accepting donations or has to resort to the very worldly people they look forward to being destroyed.
Like I said above...Watchtower helped because of WHO she was and who she was related to (part time Bethelites).
How many of us on this forum have witnessed the most wonderful, faithful witnesses that would lay their life down for Jehovah (aka the organization) BUT they where just not of the "special class?" You know the ones I am talking about. The Bethelites or the "heavy hitters" (rich Brothers). The ones that could DO something for WT. Remember.....FOLLOW THE MONEY!

With all due respect of this incredible loss. This family received assistance because of WHO they were. My family and I have witnessed this over and over again in this religion. NOW...we are out. NOW...we have witnessed complete strangers giving and helping others that they do not know. You know...evil worldly people.
This religion gives to those they call "exemplary." This is one thing that really irks me! They won't give to anyone else. We have seen some VERY faithful Brothers and Sisters throughout the years who are what we call "ordinary folk". They won't give squat to these ones. We experienced this personally and is one of the main reasons we are OUT.... NEVER to return!

Exactly DOC! Just look at how full the Kingdom Halls were just after 9/11. People you had not seen in years just showed up. Shortly thereafter, they all disappeared again. Poof...gone!

They will still be around. There will be those who just stick around for family and friends (they know TTATT but can't leave) and then there are those who know NOTHING else. We have family members who have NO life out of WT. No jobs or they are self employed. They live in there own little world. None of them have planned for the future (old age and retirement) so are now scrambling or worrying about their financial future.
WT will be a much smaller cult than is has been in the past but it will never go away. There is a sucker born every minute, so there will be those who are down and out in life that will gulp down the WT kool aid.

The most common thing we hear from our JW family is...."OBEY, OBEY, OBEY." Obedience is one of the major bullet points of being part of a cult.
a random thought occurred to me today.. i actually feel genuinely sorry for witnesses who cut contact with ones they feel are no longer "spiritual" .. they do this based not on anything that the person has actually done to them personally, but due to an imposed view from the society.. it must play havoc with their inner conscience as they try and reconcile that the person they cut off has not actually done anything to harm them, but they have to view them as evil.. it reminded me of this thread i started some time back.

I have come to the conclusion that if former "friends" and family do not want anything to do with me or my family, it is their loss. My family has so much kindness and love to give. We did when we were JW's and nothing has changed. The only thing that has changed is our beliefs. They can not get past, "that you left Jehovah" (aka, the organization). We finally realized that Jehovah is the organization. Life goes on and we are enjoying the short life we are given.
If these ones don't want us, we reverse shun them. "Turnabout is fair play."
i remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.
Because narcissists loath criticism. It's always someone else's fault, not theirs. NEVER their fault.
so the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.
If you have nothing to loose, go for it. It looks like they have already decided to shun you and your wife. They actually "uninvited" you. I guess that says a lot.
Everyone has to handle things in their own way. Everybody's story is different.

so if the gb changed its "bible based beliefs" on some teaching, would witnesses all of a sudden change their individual beliefs too?.
witnesses like to claim that "their bible trained hearts and minds" make them believe as they do, but we know that the reality is that all witnesses hold their "deep seated beliefs" according to what they have been told to believe.. so what would cause the average witness to question those that dictate their "personal convictions"??.

Exactly Millie. Once it is done to THEM, the tables turn. We observed this a few years ago. A close friend was stripped of his "privileges". You would have thought that WT had put him in a concentration camp and tortured him. Now that he has his "privileges" back all is right in JW land. He marches merrily along....UNTIL they do it to him again! It's always easier being the screwer verses the screwee. There is a song by Lady Gaga titled, til it happens to you. The song is about sexual assault. No one understands what that person goes through until it happens to them. It personally affects them.
