Skinned and Thrown About.....

this is a little long, but stick with me.. if you recall, when the building work was in full swing at the new lakefront villa (warwick), wt was having workers come and they would put them up for a year, or more, while they were providing "volunteer services".

with that, and the impending need for hundreds and hundreds of new khs in the usa territory, the congregations were abuzz with the need for "continued construction volunteers".

recently, as many of you know, wt headquarters has sent pretty much everyone home, and is no longer needing workers at the new warwick site, as the building is mostly complete, with the dedication coming up later this year.

Yes...the disappointed class. We have seen this too. We have heard it called being "put out to pasture."

Well folks...welcome to the real world. WT used you up and spit you out. BUT...these ones allowed it to happen. Oh how the mighty fall. So....how many are part of what my spouse and I call "the disappointed class." Not feeling sorry for any of them. They built their house on sand.

Guess who was there for us during tough times...NOT ONE JW. We pulled out of it on our own with a lot of hard work. That's what you do "in the real world."

Leah Remini - Scientology Documentary

i know some has been posted about leah remini and her split from scientology.

i just wanted to add after finishing it last night, it is a must watch for questioning jws...every episode has familiar situations and parallels that will make jws really think (or squirm).

watch it with someone you want to wake up!!!!

tredecu - I agree it is a very powerful show. I would also recommend to watch Leah Remini on the Conan O'Brian show this week, show date Jan 25, 2017. Great interview between Leah and Conan.

she acted on behalf of the claimant in the landmark case of a v watchtower [2015] ewhc 1722 (qb), the first judgment against the jehovah’s witnesses in the uk for historical sexual abuse.. in the article she refers to the wt uk child safeguarding policy - click here for a side-by-side 2012/2017 comparision of the document.

I just watched the Panorama segment. It is amazing that when they interviewed the Presiding overseer he mentioned all the pressure that the members of the congregation have had to endure. Not a word said about the children that this sick monster has molested. WT is made up of true narcissists. It is always someone else's fault and they show NO empathy for anyone.

Our hope is that the sh*t storm will continue for WT. The internet is blowing a massive hole in this cult. It will never go away but the damage continues.

We showed this to our teenager. The response was..."What! We have so much to deal with in High school, the homework, peer preasure, college, etc., and this is what they are worried about?"

It goes to show you how out of touch WT is with reality.

That's because when abuse occurs some speak out that it is wrong. There are many many posters on here that have been abused in awful ways. Some things I would not do to an animal. We left "Jehovahs loving organization" for just that....PLAIN AND SIMPLE ABUSE. Some may stick around and allow it. Others, like us, have had ENOUGH AND ARE NOT AFRAID TO SAY....ENOUGH!

ok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

Sisters as Ministerial Servants?

my wife has been trying to convince me that the organization is hinting at the possibility of making some older sisters ministerial servants.

she is awake to a lot of the false doctrines, but is still clinging to the hope that the org may become more progressive in the future.

anyone else pick up on this?

WT will not "use" sisters unless they have no other option. The men are not stepping up or reaching out. This is awesome. Watching WT having to "use" sisters mean the men are waking up and in a round about way giving WT the finger. Ha ha WT you are going to have to "use" the ones (sisters)...you know...the ones you have insulted over the years. Funny thing is, some sisters will love it. We know of a few "nut jobs" in the org that would lap that one up. lol

Cooking With Cast Iron

i can't even remember what got me interested in pans, probably wanting to try cooking more and watching some cooking videos on youtube, but i kind of started wanting to get a cast-iron skillet specifically so started reading up on them.

hey, if you're going to spend $50 on something you need to study them and create a comparison spreadsheet ... right?.

not only did cast-iron look great for cooking but there are some studies that show risks to aluminium / teflon cookware ... not that the wts was "right" about aluminium, but teflon can give off carcinogenic chemicals if overheated (so what if it chips off into your food?).

Simon, Love our cast iron pan. We have a Lodge outlet store nearby so I can only tell you my experience.

The store clerk was very knowledgeable. Told us to how to clean the pan and re-season the pan, etc.

!.) Told us to re-season the pan by cooking a pack of bacon.

2.) Clean the pan using a stiff kitchen dish / pan brush. Using only hot water. Wipe dry with a towel.

3.) Use a metal spatula to flip your food. Keep it flat against the bottom of the pan, so you do not create groves in the bottom of the seasoning layer.

4.) After cleaning...Use olive oil to lightly oil the pan after use.

5.) Told us to never cook with only tomatoes or tomato sauce for extended periods (simmer for hours). It can remove the pans seasoning coating and the sauce can taste metallic.

6.) If using on an electric stove top (glass top). Never go above med-high. Never slide the pan on a glass top range.

So, after following these tips. We have had great success with our pan over the past 5 years.
