It sickens me that the Elder father did nothing to report this to the authorities. I am now a grown woman and some things were done to me as a kid that I to this day don't understand (not in a sexual nature). It has had a big impact on my life. My dad really did nothing, he was an Elder as well. If what happened to me, happened to my kids, heads would roll. My Dad was a great guy but I really had to fight my own battles as a kid. My dad is deceased, so I can't ask him. I believe it had to do with keeping his position in the congregation. It's hard to believe someone would do this but it happens. The kid is the one who suffers.

"I'm am surprised she qualified as a regular pioneer and still going to college."
It's all about who you know in the org. Some Bodies of Elders turn the other way and others are Elder Nazi's. Some bodies of elders will DF ones for years and others will be out for 6 months. We have seen that happen. It is what happens when you put men in charge of judging others. Men with NO holy spirit.

Not very zealous as before
by anointed1 inwhat i sense from the conversations of my family members and relatives who are jws is that at least some jws are not as zealous before with regard to the major subjects such as “sanctification of god’s name,” “vindication of his sovereignty” etc.
they begin to feel that such subjects are imaginary issues.. this is a good sign.
it shows people are worried about their own day-to-day worries.

" It shows people are worried about their own day-to-day worries."
We have noticed this from observing our family members. We believe that they are coming to a realization that they are old and going to die. I believe this is the very first time that they have had to face this. No paradise is going to wisk them from all of their financial woes, aging and sickness. If you keep promising your children that "one day soon we will take you to Disney" and you say this year after year after year, eventually the kids will begin to think, "yeah sure ya will." The thrill and excitement is gone. NOW they are all stuck in an ageing body, dwindling bank accounts, living on minimum social security and no promised Kingdumb. You can hear it in their voices and see it on their faces. Sad!

Does the Jehovah's Witnesses religoius cult create people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder ?
by Finkelstein inthe american psychiatry association lists nine symptoms – if someone ticks five of these, they could have narcissistic personality disorder.
the nine points of narcissism.
has a grandiose sense of self-importance.. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.. believes that he or she is ‘special’ and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people.. requires excessive admiration.. has a sense of entitlement.. is inter-personally exploitative (takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends).. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her.. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.. .

Oh how I wish I could tell you my story. I have been dealing with a family member who is 100% narcissist. I worked with a guy a few years ago that was exactly the same. I did a lot of research on narcissism, so when this family member started interfering in my life, I knew what I was dealing with. Yes, I believe JW's who are especially born into this cult, have these tendencies. It also has a lot to do with how parents treated the child. In my research, I learned that you can not change this behavior. The advise even the professionals give is...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THESE PEOPLE.

"I decided a long time ago to cut ties with my family due to their bad behavior."
I have done the same with an abusive family member. You have to let them know that you will not tolerate their behavior and as hard as it is, you need to RUN NOT WALK away from them. I agree also, that many of them love the attention they receive from other congregation members. "Oh poor sister/brother so and so, their child left Jehovah." Some really get off on all the attention. Very sick and disturbing.

THE AGEING OF STILL-ACTIVE WITNESSES
by steve2 inseveral years ago i started a thread on this forum in which i asserted i had not seen witnesses door-knocking in my village for at least two or so years.
years before that - in pre-trolley times - in going about my business (or pleasure), i'd catch sight of them on the streets as they shuffled in their groups from door-to-door: sometimes there'd be contingents of witnesses, including young couples, parents and their kids and middle-aged and older ones.
in other words, a good cross-section of ages and stages in life.. in fact, i can remember times when witnesses were so visible in numbers when going out in their car groups, you literally couldn't escape them.. then, in more recent years, i've seen very, very little...if not anything (and i count myself sensitive to noting whether jws are out and about).

Take a look at the annual meeting. It is like a convention for the old timers. With young ones leaving, old ones dying and no growth, things are not looking good for WT. They will never go away but I think their numbers are going to drastically fall. Those that we have spoken to are openly admitting that they are not donating. Some have actually said that they are not going to pay Watchtowers legal bills (child molestation law suits). This is what makes me feel good. WT is getting hit where it hurts....$$$$.

"She's also destroyed all photo's of me (including baby photos)."
Wow...so sorry to hear that. As a Mother myself, I could NEVER do that. I don't want to hurt your feelings but that is dark that she can do something so permanent. She will never be able to get those pictures back.
Hang in there PE. So sorry they are doing this to you. Hugs.

What finally helped you to peek behind the curtain
by UnshackleTheChains ini'm interested in finding out what it was that finally enabled you to open your eyes to the real truth of watchtower.
what started me thinking, was the societys very own book...' 'revelation..it's grand climax at hand'.
i found that book farcicle.

The lack of love and hypocrisy is what started it all. Then my spouse read Crisis of Conscience. Years of saying...."something is just not right." We finally figured out what was..."just not right."

The popularity fad of home-schooling!
by stuckinarut2 ini know this has been discussed over the years on this forum, but i just had to post this again!.
it seems that the popular fad amongst the "spiritual" ones in the local circuits is to home school their children instead of sending them to school.. now to clarify, we are in a very nice area of semi rural australia .
one with very community minded, and strong family values.

Yes...we had some family members that home schooled their kids. Now the kids are grown...pioneering, Bethelites & need greaters. They also have no jobs, no home and no money!
