well, i went back to the area of my old congregation yesterday.
my daughter's best friend amanda was getting married, and despite my trepidation, amanda had begged me to show up and to dance a dance with her.
my trepidation was twofold; first, my ex-wife was going to be there, and after our messy divorce only six months ago, i had no desire to be anywhere where she was.
What a wonderful story. So sorry the self righteous JW's shunned you. They really are good at it. You're ex wife sounds like a real winner. She showed her true colors. You really sound like a great guy and you have a fantastic disposition. Congrats on your upcoming wedding. We have been out for 4 years and never happier.

my older brother has abruptly stopped his bible study with the witnesses.
he was part-time shunning me during his study and his behavior was beginning to change into cult mode but he was thankfully woken up.

i live in the u.k, was born in, fell away as an unbaptised publisher, got baptised in my 30s for reasons i'm retrospectively unsure of, and lost my faith about five years ago around the time of the original a.r.c.
now, being unable to leave is making me physically, emotionally and mentally ill.. i have been visiting this forum for a couple of years and wanted to post my first message to see if anyone has attended, heard or watched the zone visit broadcast thing happening this month?

i need your help in trying to wrap my head around this strange experience i had today talking with a jw lady sitting at a literature table in a busy outdoor shopping center.. i'm a very shy person, but i always wanted to ask these jws at their literature stands questions to start them thinking about the validity of watchtower teaching.
i finally mustered my strength today to talk to this jw lady.
You will get more accomplished if you go to the nearest wall and bang your head over and over again, then trying to reason with JW's. I don't even try to reason with some family members anymore, it's just not worth the frustration. I have better things to do, like enjoying a beautiful sunset walk with my spouse.
(i wanted to put this in the child abuse section of the forum!).
we have seen that during the march 2017 broadcast, m stephen lett has openly praised children who get baptised as young as 10!.
so lets summarize why it is wrong to push child baptism (not far off "infant baptism" that jws condemn other churches for).
They just stated at the ARC. Witnesses do not get baptized until they are adults or almost adults. I guess 10 is an adult for Jw''s.

a few things i learned from reading this that i wasn't aware of when i was a jw:.
Was this 2007 document a supplement to the Shepard the Flock book? Why shouldn't all publishers been issued a copy? They have a whole set of rules and guidelines that only those Judges have access to! Sounds fair! Wow! The crap we used to believe!
it seems that most people who have been witnesses that i've known in the last 20 years are still jws.
they may not be as zealous as before but they still remain as jehovah's witnesses.

Yes, most of our JW family and past friends are still in. What we do see more and more of are the older ones we knew are beginning to die. The future problem for WT, we do not see one for one replacements for the ones who have passed. We also noticed entire families are no longer all in. Many families we know have at least 1 or 2 family members that no longer go.
maybe you were considered a good example or a picture was needed.. can you give some background of the procedure?

No...we were NEVER considered "exemplary." Our Daddies did not have a lot of money or wine and dine the GB members. My spouse and I were considered weak (aka losers). Thank God...it is why we are where we are today....FREE!
