i had a brother visit me yesterday to invite me to the memorial.
as usual, despite the unspoken passive aggressiveness, i was polite,.
anyway, this year, he started his presentation by saying: "the governing body (gb) wants us to read this bible passage to you!
" All I knew was that they were humble man acting behind the scene. "
The past GB members had some winners as well. Some were unloving and unkind as well. The thing that is splitting this generation of GB members, is the internet. The technology that WT has embraced is biting them in the a**.
i used to dread seeing a witness coming toward me.
now i am quite comfortable and hope that they may say something to me..... does your blood pressure rise when you see a jw coming toward you?

Nope...we smile and let them know that we are doing better than ever. If they ask any prying questions, we are not afraid to let them know that we do not need to discuss that with them. They have NO power over you. It drives them crazy when you give them NOTHING!

If your old Company really needs your knowledge and you want to. Use it as an opportunity to be a consultant on your terms, your rates and when you are available. This way you can profit from your skills and keep your current job. Wish you the very best!
i have jw's knocking on my door about 4 times a year.
they walk along the whole street knocking on all the properties trying to hand out leaflets about god.. i always engage them in conversation.
my street has a very large number of oap's who could really do with some extra help.....grass cutting, shopping, cleaning, help around the house, gardening, diy etc.. never once have i been able to persuade any jw's to do something worthwhile for these residents.. i'm left with the thought that jw's don't want to do anything really worthwhile for these people.......why ?.

It is a JW checkbox they have to do. Turn field circus time in on a monthly basis. This is how the measure your "spirituality" (aka JW tasks). When they ask how your spirituality is, what they are asking is, are you doing all the "tasks" (service, meetings, assemblies, etc.). That is how you are measured. They don't give a rat's ass about you or anyone else. Just a JW check box.
It took me a while to figure out the true meaning of the word "spirituality". I finally figured it out.
i had a young couple stop by yesterday to drop off an invitation to the memorial.
i told them i was a bible student & had studied a number of religions.
i got into all the hot topics.
You know when they get back into the car, they feel sorry and judge you to the max.
The interesting thing is, we all feel sorry for them. They are stuck in a cult. You don't see it until you leave. That nagging little voice telling you something in the org is wrong. We don't have that little voice nagging us anymore. We have figured it out...it's a cult.
it finally hit me today.
why do religions enjoy shunning.
because many people feel like being close to god makes them special however just being special is not enough for many religious people that shun they must feel extra special how?
They shun because they are assh*les.
I look at it as, it is their loss, not mine. I am a nice person. A filthy mouth but...nice. lol

some quick background information: my dad (her firstborn son) died unexpectedly this past october.
his death has really hit our family hard.
personally, i have not totally come to terms with this.
Yes...I think a lot of the older ones are having trouble with all the changes. The generation did not end as promised. This generation was a major part of our up bringing. Now they are trying to change it because their "jig is up." The older ones are watching everything they believed in turn into a televangelist organization. No different than the 700 club. They also do not like that everything is via the internet. Try teaching a 90 year old how to use a IPad. They also hate the new songs (hard to sing).

hi all.. so i had a jw visit me at home accusing me of telling stories about another jw.
i said something to a friend in a private message on facebook who went on to share what i said with a jw (third party) who then shared it with another jw (fourth party).
my question is.
I learned that lesson too. There is NO confidential talk. We learn all the details of everyone's status, in field service car groups. Most, not all,. Elders wives knew the details of confidential meetings.
