Physically In, Mentally Out

7 years ago i was this "ultra spiritual elder".

you name it, i was visible all over the region.

i was the coordinator, on the convention committee, rbc, had a talk at every convention and assembly, regular pioneer, etc.

I never understood why Elders had to step down if the kid makes a boo boo. I equate it to taking a parents drivers license away from the parent when the kid has a DUI. It makes NO/Zero sense. Like most WT crap, it make no sense. You weren't even home when your son fornicated. We have watched the favortism as well over the years. It's all about who you know and how much money you have.

I don't know how ones who are PIMO do it. I know so many who are stuck due to family in. It has to be draining! I really feel for you. I hope you can escape soon, it sounds like it is taking a toll. Hang in there!

hi everyone, this is my first post .. it takes a little bit of courage to do it, i have to admit and even thought i have been lurking for some time as time goes by it gets more and more difficult to keep attending meetings and just been around the friends in the congregation.

ever since i learned about the arc something inside of me just broke and it feels pretty hollow, now i pay attention to every single form of manipulation in every direction, what difference it makes with the catholic church or with any other religions ?

i wonder why the publishers are under obligation to report about their lives and decisions to the elders but they don´t keep informed the congregation about what´s going on legally other than russia.

Welcome. The ARC has woken many up. It's interesting that WT NEVER mentions it, I agree. They swept what they do not want others to find out about. We have mentioned it to most of our in JW family. It's interesting, they are clueless.

I am also a firm believer in karma. It is coming for WT for all of its past and current abuse. So many dirty secrets.

I can so see WT having the same issue. The next few years could put WT right up their with the Mormons. Reading these forums and seeing more and more making their exit gives us hope. You don't sell Kingdom Halls if all is well.

absolutely thrilled to give you the news that my younger brother, a zealous full-time pioneer has left the witnesses!!.

i haven't seen or spoke to him in a year.

i'd lost all contact with him, no facebook, no mobile number, i didn't even know his address because he'd moved house.

I wonder if the video at last years regional assembly. You know the one stopping the young boy (Sergie?) from playing the violin had an effect on your Brother? Glad to hear is doing something he loves again! This gives us all hope for loved ones we have still in the org.

he married her and about a year later she got pregnant.

I have a sibling that is a train wreak, she is no longer welcome in my home or life. She is a lying, manipulative and would use and steal from her own grandma. She is married to a man just like her.

Run! Some people are way beyond help.

PE...that is fantastic news! I am so happy for you. Now you can re connect with your brother. I think that is the best news I've heard on here in a long time. You are right, not only are they running the rank in file into the ground but the most uber are leaving too. Wow!

I agree with your brother. My spouse and I feel so much better once we exited the cult. Our alcohol bill has subsided by a large number. Now...I enjoy my occasional drink, I don't need it to get through the meetings, assemblies, service, etc.

Keep us posted on his progress. I am over the moon happy for you both.

2017 International Regional Convention, Toronto – Entertainment at Sony Centre

i’ve been hearing from several very reliable sources that there will be an exclusive elite gala entertainment event hosted by the watch tower organization, featuring specially chosen jehovah’s witnesses of outstanding talent as well as spiritual reputation, at the sony centre (formerly called the o’keefe centre) in toronto, ontario (canada) as a special “after hours” addition to the 2017 special international convention.. those chosen have to meet very strict criteria, including, not so much technical and popular talents, but, rather, their spiritual maturity which can be easily and practically related to by the audience (i.e., degree of conformity – you know what i mean!).

a notable and very well-known professional “super star” from some other country (i don’t know which one) who has achieved highly recognized and popular talent was surprisingly not chosen to participate in the extra entertainment program, whereas other performers with rather ho-hum musical abilities ended up being selected, ostensibly for their altruistic and “theocratic” qualities.

(something tells me that there is going to be some jealousy and indignant, hard feelings over this rather authoritarian, arbitrary selection process.

I don't have a problem with the JW's enjoying themselves. The problem I have with it, is they only invite the elite JW's. These events are ticketed events that the pioneers, Elders and special delegates receive. There is a hirarchy in this organization. The little ole sister who can not physically pioneer anymore, but put years of service in, gets NO invitation. The publisher that puts what WT calls "token service" in, gets no invitation. Maybe that person has long work hours or multiple jobs to support their family. These ones are not even considered. That is my problem. No matter what WT claims, they like there uber JW's and those in the borg who have money. Everybody else is just a "token JW." That's the problem with these events. It's a huge problem within this borg. And they wonder why people are walking away.
