Bottom line... we all have to do what is right for US. Just like each child in a large family can be totally opposite of the others, even though they have the same DNA. We have 2 children. One is attending college and loves it, the other has no interest in college but has pursued a very vital career in society. She absolutely loves her job and can't imagine doing anything else. She doesn't make a lot of money but is happy, healthy and kind. The one pursuing college is also happy, healthy and kind. What more could a parent want? We are equally proud of both of them.

We have family members who are still in and treated poorly but they are in a service industry. If the JW's can get the service for free or at a discount, they show up in an instant.
Phoebe....so glad your kids are educated and doing well.
I agree with LHG, I think JW's are jealous of the JW's who are getting educated.

2005 and their message hasn't changed. How many people have chosen not to attend college and are paying the price financially? It doesn't seem to hit some until they are in their 60's and 70's, when it is too late to recover what you have lost. We are seeing this in our family at this very moment.

I had a "friend" who is a still in JW tell me the org is not telling people not to attend college. It's amazing how much most just can't or won't see it. An Elder told us that he called the branch to ask if it was ok to send his kid to college. They told him it was a personal decision. That IS NOT what this talk is conveying. This is an al carte organization, pick and choose what you want. What a load of BS.

The Granddaughter wanted a large growth on her face removed but lied to the Doctors about her age (she was 16). The Grandfather enters trying to get the girl out of the hospital due to the blood issue. Anywho, if you didn't watch it, it was worth a watch. They had it pretty spot on except Grandpa sported a beard and went to pray in the hospital chapel. Definite JW no no's.
In the end he told the Surgeon that his Grandaughter was saved but missed out on eternal life in paradise earth due to taking blood transfusions. WTF? So God saves you then destroys you? When you are out of the cult you can really see how nutty their beliefs really are.

The part where he mentions that Elders send there kid off to college. Well, we can't tell people what to do. You just spent the entire talk telling people what to do. If Elders are putting there kids in college and this is a sign of a lack of faith. Why are these Elders still our spiritual leaders if they lack faith? I would hate to put my trust in a surgeon who lacked skills or training. Just sayin.
