"Let It Go" describes leaving the immediate reality and path of leaving JWs
by Bad_Wolf ini was at disney and when the song was on for a show it seemed to describe one leaving.
here are lyrics and my thoughts in ().
the snow glows white on the mountain tonightnot a footprint to be seen.a kingdom of isolation, (immediate isolation when entire social network cut off and shuns)and it looks like i'm the queen (only one alone)the wind is howling like this swirling storm insidecouldn't keep it in;heaven knows i've tried (start of waking up to break free of jw cult).

If Watchtower has NO reason to DF ones. They have just become inactive. Do you all think WT will begin a witch hunt (DF'ing) for these inactive ones? Ones who have not spoken to others or met with the Elders about their doubts, they have just disappeared.
This has become a topic in our household. Just want to get your feedback.

My Father has brandished me with the "APOSTATE" word for talking about the BIBLE!
by stuckinarut2 inso after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.
"don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".
i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.

Dig hole in sand, insert head! The JW way. I feel your pain Stuck. Trying to "reason" with these people is frustrating. My spouse and I finally gave up. When we speak to family, it's about health, finances and the weather. It is safer that way. lol If we get on a WT subject, things don't go well. We remind them of that and tell them that we will have to "agree to disagree."

Being a jobo. It's not the same as it was.
by punkofnice ini've been hearing this from what i'd call 'dyed in the wool' type jobos.. 'it's not the same as it was a few years ago.....'.
i believe from what comes back to me via my spies -.
the dyed in the woolers are referring to how the gb are now blatantly pontificating threateningly it seems, about wanting money even from children, all the time.

"The comment that stood out to me was when one of them said that the society just doesn't feel the same, oh it's great and everything is perfect but it's so different now."
The closeness of the Org is gone. Days of a close knit Book study group with goody night (took the Book study away). We used to have picnics but large groups were frowned upon. My spouse and I had several parties at our home but it seemed someone always had something to say. I got so sick of someone invited starting something and I just finally told my spouse..."no more gatherings at our home."
Back in the 80's it seemed like we were all in this thing together. Fast forward 40 some odd years later, it is an organization that is jam pack full of petty rules and regulations. Now it is full of titles and special this and special that. Pettiness, titles and legalism has taken over! It's a shame! It has taken on a coldness. Mediocrity need not apply!

"Now the speaker used this to show how putting spiritual things first safeguards you from peril. "
When JW's are spared a timely death or a situation goes their way, it's a "blessing from Jehovah."
When JW's are not spared or things don't go their way, it's a "test from Jehovah or we need the new system."
I call BS on it as well.

How much do you think the internet has hurt JW growth?
by HereIgo inthe internet is what helped bring me and so many others out of this evil organization or at least confirmed our doubts.
i have to say, i have seen quite a few youtube videos recently of ex jw's secretly recording their interactions inside of different congregations, halls, etc and see how empty the halls are!
so many people comment on how the attendance is so low, far more emptier than when i was in 6 years ago, even on a weekday meeting.

Telling people not to look at the internet is like telling an Elders not to look at porn. You know most look at the evil apostate sites. It's just hard to get them to admit out loud that they have been duped. No one likes to admit they have been duped and lied to. We had to come to terms with it but most just bury their head in the sand and move on. The beautiful thing about it is, once you see it you can't unsee it! Yeah....long live the internet!!!!
All you have to do is Google Jehovah's witnesses and a boat load of juicy info comes up.

Several years back my spouse and I experienced this at a circuit assembly. We knew the families very well. Both experiences were WAY OFF. We knew the circumstances well. We looked at each other in shock. One of the experiences was how this particular brothers parents were a shining spiritual example for him. It was sugar and spice and everything nice. The only thing they forgot to mention was, the son, was just reinstated a few short months prior. He was DF'd for having sex with a sister in our Hall. His parents set such a good example and no one (except those in our congregation) knew the "rest of the story." I actually received a phone call from a sister in another hall, she knew the circumstances also and could not believe they used the family as an example on an assembly part. It happens!
