  this just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.

  1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.

  6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

  The carts will be around for a while. It keeps the Dubbies busy and they feel important and relevant.

  They will get rid of the carts and door to door when it is just too embarrassing for the dubs to be in public. If JW's can not defend themselves, they get nervous.

  Once it gets to that point, WT will tell the rank and file that the ark doors are closing and Jah's message has been given to all. The preaching work is complete. Fear, obligation and guilt work wonders! If it did not work, WT would not continue to use it!

  Does JW Org Have Goons Like Scientology?

  Exactly! So have JW's been wasting time placing/printing literature? What about field service time? The Bible and Jesus have never stated that time had to submitted on a monthly basis. It's amazing how important everything was at the time it was being done, then WT minimizes the things that were once important. Like the all important Book Study. WT is full of sh*t!

  "We don't venerate idols or images!"

  how often did we as witnesses say something like this : "unlike members of false religion, who venerate or worship through statues or idols, we give our focus to jehovah!".

  members of religious groups focus their religious adoration via an image or statue.

  they do this in order to provide some sort of focus to their need to worship.. witnesses give extreme focus on the name "jehovah" .

  OUR PARENTS ARE ROLLING OVER IN THEIR GRAVES!!!!

  WT now has a choir, JW.org, cutie cartoons, dancing/singing/entertainment at the assembly halls/Kingdom halls, a special donate button, money changing machines at the assemblies, teaching videos, clapping and swaying at the assemblies, a new revised Bible and preaching carts. What's next? The Governing Body getting a new private jet anytime soon?

  Stupid, stupid nonsense in the October JW broadcast

  so in the october jw broadcast, there is a "morning worship" segment in which g. jackson goes to great lengths to explain how the term "those taking the lead" are not "leaders".. the terms are exactly equivalent, of course, but jackson, with a wink & smirk, pats himself on the back for his own cleverness on how different they really are.it's just so bizarrely absurd.. imagine if such tortured reasoning were applied to other areas..... -------------------------------------.

  restaurant manager: i'm sorry, the only position we have open is for dishwasher.

  applicant: that's insulting!

  i first lurked here around 20 years ago and read huge amounts of threads which certainly helped when i was making my decision to leave the religion.

  Yes...my spouse and I have accepted that the family (on spouses side) will NEVER change. It's something we just have to accept. We ask them to respect us as inactive and I guess we have to respect their beliefs as well. We tell them that it is just better to keep things as they are. We will talk about the weather, the family, the kids, etc. but not JW issues. We are not afraid to warn them that they may not like or agree with what we say. They seem to be fine with that.

  My family, however, is a different story. Pushy, manipulative and abusive. Once they found out we are inactive...the jig was up. Good riddance to em!

  KH dedication

  correct me if i'm wrong--.

  when a new-build or existing property is acquired for use as a kingdom hall----is it still the custom to have a sort of "dedication to jehovah" type of service ?.

  if it is--what happens when the property is sold ?

  Our KH was sold to a church a few years ago. We can't enter a church for a wedding or to do work but WT can sell the KH to Babylon the Great. Really? The height of hypocrisy!

  One of our family members will NOT enter a KH for any reason. Several family members (non JW's) had church weddings that she would not attend. It hurt feelings when she did not show up. The ironic thing is, she doesn't think there is anything wrong with WT selling our KH to a church. Weird!!!!
