My spouse lost his job during the middle of the last recession. It was tough. Thank goodness we did not have a lot of debt and kept our expenses down. Besides our service conductor, not one of the Elders , during that time, gave a crap. Not one! When we started our fade, one of the Elders came by our house, his only concern was what congregation we were going to. He never asked my spouse if he ever got another job. Then we bumped into another Elder from our KH. All he spoke about was himself. We waited and waited for him to ask if my spouse ever received another job or how our children were doing. Nope. I don't think they will give two hoots about anyone else but themselves. This comes from the top down. As long as they are taken care of, they could care less about others.

Have you Witnessed a Change in People's Life-Style / Behaviour where you Live?
by smiddy3 ini certainly have , over the normal week i go to one of two clubs where i have two beers over a couple of hours ( i pace myself ) and catch up with a few friends .
one of the clubs every hour goes around to disinfect everywhere people make contact with pokies /machines or whatever we might touch.and they also now have limits as to how many can be in a certain area at any one time.and that applies to both clubs ,except one does not disinfect every hour.. today, their were far fewer people in this particular club that i attended that is usually bustling with patrons on a saturday either drinking gambling and socializing .not today.
and a strict rule of how many could be in a certain area at any one time .. and i agree with all of this , its necessary .and i will be monitoring my own activities as need be.. what have you noticed in your neck of the woods.?

In the Southern part of the us. About an hour outside of a large Metropolitan area. Everyone is home during the day, everyday seems like a Saturday . People are walking their dogs, mowing their yards and working from home. Weird!
Stores are closing early and dine in places are doing take out orders only. Sam's club, in our area is limiting how many packs of meat and packs of TP you buy. Kids and college students are doing online school, so we see many of them out and about during the day.
People seem to be making the best of it.
One thing interesting. I deal with a good volume of clients (all "worldly"). I have received several texts over the past couple of weeks, checking on me and my family. Any JW's? Nope. We have had to reach out to JW family and check on them. NO ONE has reached out to us. "You will know them by their fruits."

I tried watching it, I REALLY tried. lol
All WT and the GB talk about is "the Brothers and Sisters." They could care less about anyone outside of their bubble. I have several friends who are active JW's. They actually still speak to us. WE had to reach out to them and check on them. We let them know that we are thinking of them. Funny, they did not reach out to us. They are just worried about those in their little JW bubble. Sad but true! It just shows you what we were a part off. A CULT!!!
Being destroyed has to be better than spending eternity with these selfish and cold people. I'll take my chances.
Stay safe and healthy everyone!!!!

Rumor of Religion wanting to contact Inactives
by LongHairGal ini saw a post on reddit from somebody claiming to be an elder that the jw religion wants to contact all inactives.. some of the responses indicate that some were contacted or had close friends or relatives being asked for their contact information.
some of these people have been out of the jw religion for many years and have moved on.
the ones contacted said the jw informed them about cancelled meetings (as though they would care).

My response: " I would rather die than return to Watchtower." I sincerely mean that too! If God is going to destroy me for not going to the meetings, assemblies, memorial or read WT rags, then so be it. I'll take it!!!

We have cases in our very own family of domestic abuse within WT. The victims were actually encouraged by the Elders, to stay with their abusive spouses. WT will protect the abuser and victimize the victim(s) . We have seen it in our family. Just look how WT handles child sex abuse. We had a local case of abuse and the congregation sat behind the abuser in court and supported him.
This is a sad story. I hope the family gets the justice they deserve.

The Evil Masterminds Behind COVID-19: Charmin and Cottonelle
by keyser soze inof all the things people decided they needed to stockpile for a potential quarantine.
all of the stores around my area ran completely out of toilet paper this last weekend.
people were piling it into their carts and vehicles as if they were going to be holed up for a year.

"5- Inactive: The elders should reach out to inactive ones and keep them updated as to adjustments in the meeting arrangements. (Luke 15:4-7; sfl chap. 25 pars. 13-15) If needed, elders may grant inactive ones access to JW Stream. The world situation may well move some to return to Jehovah."
Fat chance I will ever return to "Jehovah" (aka....the cult). I would rather die eternally than spend eternity with this bunch.
Funny....our family is "inactive" and none of our family Eldurs have checked on us. The only 2 that have checked in on our well being is the 2 that left "the troof." Love never fails eh?

They need MORE $$$$$
by TallTexan ini haven't been to a meeting in years, but i was recently told by a friend of mine that they have really been hammering the 'use of your valuable things in support of the kingdom' in many of the talks and thursday night parts.
i know they used to mention it all the time, but he said it's gotten really bad lately.
i told him that's because the membership in the western (translate that to "richer"...lol) countries has really fallen off and even become negative in many countries and that the 3rd world countries can't contribute enough to support the great publishing empire.
