last wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.
she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.
her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.
"He told me 10 years ago that he felt he would die in this system. So deep down there are doubts in his mind."
We had a family member (70's) tell us the same exact thing just a few years ago. She still holds true to the cult but there are deep deep doubts. She will never admit the doubts to us, now that she knows that we are out for good. She doesn't want to add that "feather in our cap."

It is interesting that your brother has seemed a bit humbled. It makes you wonder if some of these active JW's are questioning their very beliefs. The end did not come, the way they were promised. Sad!

It's sad that so much fear is used. Our still in family is shaking in their boots. They know fear works and they use it every chance they get.

a friend of ours who is married to a jw said that this morning for service everyone who was on zoom got to do a call while the rest listened in on the call.
there were thirty-one this morning listening in on one who would call someone to preach to.
shouldn't the person they are calling on be warned first that there will be so many listening in on their phone call from the zoom meeting.
I hope WT get's busted for calling people. People are so cautious about their privacy now days. This is gonna bite them!

Yes, WT will NEVER help you financially in any way. This was a wake up call to my spouse and I back in 2008. We experienced a lay off. We never expected any financial help but it would have been nice if the Elders in the congregation asked how our family was doing. Besides one Elder, not one other Elder ever asked. These "gifts in men" failed miserably! Now, I appreciate what they didn't do, it actually woke us up and got us out of this miserable cult!!!

Why can't you get to know one another now? NOW! Why does a relationship have to be based on religious beliefs? Like others have said, this message is just sad. We all know that JW's are being directed from the hateful 8, in upper state NY, to reach out to the inactive. I mean, after all, we must all be miserable, right? WRONG!!! They are capitalizing on a bad situation/virus (as usual). They are using the inactive and DF'd to put their time in. They can not go door to door or sit at a lonely cart. YOU, are now their "territory." TRULY SAD!!! I'm sorry for this, I truly am.
