but at the same time asked to have all my privileges revoked, no longer a reader, no talks, no prayer at meetings, no doing the sound, etc. They were fine with that but clearly disturbed at my though process.Wow, this sounds so much like my situation as well. I also gave up everything as I knew I would one day have to walk away. The same as you bradford, brothers started shunning like I had the plague. It was actually quite funny to see. Up until a few weeks ago, many have started to come around again. I look at them with a big smile that says 'get the **ck away from me you hypocrite'. Those that do manage to make it to the handshake get a very cold icy look that has 'you two-faced **cksucker' written all over it. These are people that are supposed to be there for you when you are down spiritually but instead they chose to look good by avoiding you. What a sick **cken organization. Just sick. I hope one of these days to put up my story when I have plenty of time on these boards. Welcome and hope everything turns out good for you and your wife. I wish you the very best my man. I truly do.

The Secret is out....but nobody cares
by MrTheocratic ini've been looking on this site for some time but never posted.
i'll give a little about myself, but not too much.
i'm a ex-bethelite ( brooklyn )and currently serving as an elder (10 years) (thinking about stepping down) on the service committee.

Some even have respected positions in the organization that makes them like little gods.
I believe this to be the case in many congregations. And the organization continually uses the "privileges" card time and time again to get brothers to submit without questioning. And like you said, once brothers start to taste a better life outside the WTSB mentality such as having a nice home, good career, good things, there's no need to fulfill the power role in their minds, although I will admit that even then some brothers need to find a way to fulfill that power trip over people. It's all psychological and the WTSB plays it beautifully. They can string along brothers especially the newly converted that don't know the historical failures. I'm glad the WTSB was stupid enough to put most of their literature all on one program for those that seek to find the truth. That coupled with the internet will be the decaying factor. -

Who's behind the WT / JW.org?
by elkatire1980 ini have always thought that the members of the governing body are just a decorative elements in the visible cusp of the organization.
i have read conspiratorial topics about who really rule, but they are not visible.
the shareholders of the corporation?

I don't personally believe there is someone behind the curtain pulling the strings.
If you are interested and believe the theories, look into The Watchtower and the Freemasons by Fritz Springmeier.
It's an interesting read but a bit far fetched.

God's supposedly chosen earthly organization (WTS/JWS) doesn't pronounce or spell god's name correctly !!!
by Finkelstein inthis came up on terry walstrom thread topic recently and i thought it would be good to explore this further.
the jws are quite boisterous and arrogant that they use the proper name of jehovah as the divine name of god.
but a little investigation discovers something quite different.

I don't understand how God being the almighty could not have seen this (our modern day) and planned for it so that his name, his proper name, be sanctified just like Jesus said it should.
The translation of the scriptures or should I say 'the accurate translation of the scriptures' is something that I'm having a hard time reconciling.

I'm not surprised that some would resort to conspiracy theories regarding the Conti case and other pedophilia cases. Members that are deeply involved and are willing to lay down their lives for the GB without batting an eye are the ones that refuse to believe what's right in front of them. Their mind conditioning is beyond reason.
I guess in my state a former elder that is now serving 25 years for pedophilia must all be made up as well. Oh, and so are the two victims who were initially silenced and are now victims must all be part of the conspiracy theories. What was I thinking! What a joke.

QUESTIONING THE OBVIOUS or deconstructing Jehovah's Witnesses
by TerryWalstrom inwhat is the most obvious thing you can think of about jehovah's witnesses from the standpoint of worldwide recognition?.
wouldn't it be 2 primary things: the name jehovah and secondly, the public testimony or witnessing?.
let's begin deconstructing those two things.. first, why would christians refer to themselves by any other name than christian?.

The org purposely uses Jehovah as many times as possible throughout talks, articles, and books, in order to cement into the JW minds that Jehovah and the org are one in the same and if you leave, betray, or talk bad about the org or their arrangements you are in fact speaking against Jehovah himself. Another thing is how the GB has taken over the role of Christ as head of the congregation. If Jesus is mentioned once during talks it's too many times. It's all about mind conditioning. -

Jehovahs Witness Shunning & the Crusades
by freemindfade inwhile discussing being mistreated by my own jw family last night with my wife, i wanted to try to make her think critically about what shunning really is, and at its root what how beneficial it is.
earlier in the day i sent her non-apostate scholarly article on religious shunning being tantamount to psychological torture.
and most witnesses don't think into much about why they do things, its more of a "this is the way we do it, don't over think it" process.

Hey d4g I couldn't help but notice your avatar and your stance on religion.
So you do believe in celebrating Christmas but as a tradition and not religiously?
Please don't take offense, I was just curious that's all.

Another 'devoted witness' dies, without the fulfillment of the promises
by fulltimestudent inanother xjw called me this morning to tell me that a reasonably well-known 'old timer' had just died.
which set me thinking about death and the jws.
we were so positive that armageddon was coming in our life time that when death arrives on the door-step its hard for some to cope.. not that this man who just died may have been in that situation.

It's sad to hear about this man's life and sad death. Sad in the sense that the GB while living high on the hog continues to blast brothers to do more and how they'll never be worthy of salvation if they don't and how tomorrow may be the last day. It's sickening and downright repulsing.
I never understood why the GB instead of trying to look like holy prophets, why don't they just level with the members and admit they don't know when the end will come. My theory, yes I still believe in a Creator, the GB is being described in 2 Peter chapters 2 and 3. It's actually quite disconcerting how they can quote these verses and chapters and have no clue it's their bio.

To all anointed wannabe losers, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, OR ELSE!!!!!

I still remember that article that called the newly participating brethren as being emotionally unstable or having past mental issues. I was still very much in at the time but I remember thinking what an insult it was to those were truly being called. This was one of little crumbs that added up to a full blown crust that eventually crumbled beneath its own weight (their own writings).
Just like King David, and so many others, sinful brothers should not even let the elders take a wiff of their rectum much less openly confess something that is completely between God and man.if a person who partakes has committed a serious sin, he should seek spiritual assistance

50th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" -- WHAT???
by Marvin Shilmer intake a look at the linked ap photograph and tell me what you think:.
- miss black u.s., miss black georgia and miss black teen .
what would the likes of al sharpton say if the hallowed event this weekend at the edmund pettus bridge in selma, alabama had been attended by a miss white u.s., miss white georgia and miss white teen?

I understand your point Marvin. Some things are racially inflamed on television for ratings while other seemingly normal everyday things are ignored. Let's say for example a black cop shoots and kills an unarmed black male/female. This would certainly not make any waves and not enough to fan the race flames. No coverage, not significant enough for ratings. Let's say a black cop shoots unarmed white male/female. No coverage, not significant enough for ratings. How about a black cop shooting a latino, middle eastern, or asian male/female? Still not enough to fan the racial flames and get some good ratings. CNN anchors/producers brainstorming: "I mean come'on it's minorities shooting minorities, we need some good events worthy of news, something that can truly captivate the audiences and get those emotions involved!". Then we have a white person killing any of the aforementioned minorities but especially a black person. Oh boy, out comes the mainstream media screaming racism, fanning the race flames. The mainstream media does not care about a white cop shooting a black unarmed person. It's about causing instability and garnering ratings. I mean seriously, blacks have as much right as any white person in America. Sure there are still pockets of racism today but those conditions exist for all other minorities as well. The day where authorities had the right to discriminate against blacks are dead. I also admit there are those black hoodrats that seem to think that everything the white man does is to keep them oppressed. But these are in the minority as most blacks are good law abiding folks who love America. It's the maggots like Sharpton, MSNBC, CNN, and other guilty parties that wish to continue spreading the message of oppression when its all but disappeared.
Those are my three cents :-)
