Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Brother Jeramy inallow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.
i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.
some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

bottom line on new generation thinking -very simple
by nowwhat? inwhen they came up with the overlapping generations new lite, they must have received alot of "where's the scriptural precedent?!
so they came up with the account of joseph and his brothers to shut them up.
still they are trying to make a round peg fit in a square hole to fit 1914 in the equation.

Ahhhhh the generational teaching. Nothing screams "time is short and you must survive so act now and join our organization!!!" more than the generation teaching.
Then you have imbecile lunch boxes like Stephen Lett who look like they want to jump out of their clothes and run around naked screaming "please believe me, I'm not lying!!".

Just two weeks in our new home and the knock at the door happens!!
by truthseekeriam injust relaxing with my morning coffee enjoying looking at the pictures fipper shared of the camping trip when the dreaded knock came.
of course the dogs beat me to the door followed by my daughter trying to catch them, she looks through the giant peep hole and waves me away saying "its them.
" i almost just walked away from the door when i saw the sweet face of a 5/6 year old little boy with his mom and dad and couldn't resist talking to them.. i opened the door and smiled and said jehovah's witnesses?

@ truthseek... - I found the visit from the elders a bit amusing. As if them showing up and posturing would make you open the door. Incredible. I wanted to suggest next time, depending on how long their arrogance permits them to stay at your front door, I would call the police in a very excited state and plead with them to send a squad car as two men are trying to break in through your front door. But then again, that's just me .

Just lost one more friend
by paradisebeauty ini used to talk weekly on skype, with a sister from another country.
i didn't tell her much about my research and change of beliefs, until today ... in the conversations some doctrines came up and i told her i don't believe 1914, first, then i went on to tell her that i also don't believe there are 2 classes of christians, that i did not believe the government of the kingdom will be in heaven while the kingdom en earth, that i believe the whole kingdom will be on earth, and that from what i read, jesus was pretty clear that he will come back to earth, visibly.
the "god always had an organization" dogma was dropped and i told her it is not true, out of 9000 years of human history, it's not sure there were 1000 years when god had a loyal organization ..... i did not plan to tell her all this things, but it just happened, and things came up in the conversation... and once i dropped one bomb i dropped them all .... she said i do not sound like i am one of the jehovah's witnesses any more ... and even though we ended the call with "see ya" i have the feeling i will not hear from her any more ... .

It's hard to stay composed when you know your friend is experiencing deceit by a very sinister organization.
At times, I also have to catch myself from doing the same with my family. I take comfort in the following words of our Lord Christ in John 16:33:
"I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!" ~ New Revised Standard Version
.....that includes the Watchtower Society.

The Heartless JW
by babygirl30 insoooo...i have recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, and am scared out of my mind.
in a weak moment, i called my parents and my mom answered.
i start crying as i tell her about my disease, and this woman says to me:.

@ babygirl30 - When I read your post I couldn't help but remember Waco, Jonestown, and some other instances where people willingly did something so unnatural it was disturbing. I'm so sorry about your experience.
Your mom while she does deserve part of the blame, is acting as a result of deep indoctrination. Witnesses have been continually ingrained over and over again that they will be persecuted and incessantly chased down by Satan. Therefore, anything that deviates from the WTS teachings is evil with a capital "E". Hence you, your household, your lifestyle, your illness, your phone call is and was evil.
The WTS does a phenomenal job at stripping away every bit of our personal emotions and replacing them with theirs NOT the bibles. The result is your mom's incredibly evil response. There is no way, no way, absolutely none, that Jesus would have responded this way. But again, she has been taught to hate anything outside of the WTS. It also reminds me of the story of the Samaritan and when Jesus sat down to eat with sinners.
I'm just glad to see that the WTS is finally being dealt with. Hopefully it starts an avalanche that does not stop until they become incapacitated and can no longer spread their message of hate and exclusivity.

Judicial committee letter to elders
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inwarning: this is rather lengthy.
i thought i would post this information that i took with me to my judicial committee.
the elders promised that we would talk about everything that was bothering me, yet, we ended up talking about less than 10% of it.

Getting it out of my system, a VERY long introduction/outpouring..
by adimmedlight inwarning, novel ahead:.
after a few months of lurking on this site, i've decided to take the plunge...i don't really care so much about introducing myself, but somehow there is some relief in the thought of getting my little story out there, just getting it out of my system.
i am the oldest of 5 kids.

@ adimmedlight - I'm so sorry to hear about your plight. By becoming part of this forum you will make genuine friends based on real feelings and emotions. Not your "instant" friends that are so prevalent in KHalls around the world. You will be able to speak your mind and have unguarded moments for as long as you'd like. No more "I better not say this" or "I can't say this" crap that is again so common in JW land.
There are many sincere true people in this forum who like you have gone through the same exact thing and sometimes worse.
You are now experiencing the world with no blinders and it will take some getting used to. The fact of the matter is the GB with all their rules and policies have usurped the place that rightfully belongs to Jesus and Jehovah God. The reason Jesus is not mentioned much is the GB wants people to put faith in them (they subtly identify themselves as God's spokesperson therefore they are practically God's prophets which is total bull****).
If you ever have second thoughts about leaving the Witnesses always remember that they are false prophets and Jehovah God advises us not to fear them...Deuteronomy 18:20-22. There are numerous quotes throughout the years where they claim exclusivity in being God's Earthly Channel of Communication. And then there are the numerous failed prophetic statements and dates that have failed time and time again.
No matter what relatives, friends, and other brothers and sisters say, they cannot refute this fact set in stone. And if God is telling us to not fear these prophets/organizations/persons who are we to say otherwise?
Then again you may be told that the JW organization is the only organization where they teach the biblical truths and that's where you learned the truth. If so, why does the Apostle Paul specifically speak out against this sort of mentality in 1 Corinthians 1:10-17.
Stay close to Jehovah God in prayer and study by reading the Bible daily and asking everything in Jesus' name.
I don't believe we have entered the "last days" just yet and we are still waiting on Jehovah to reveal "the lawless one" which is the WTS.

What went wrong in your congregation?
by The Rebel inthe target is converts.. why does it seem such an outrageous aim for a congregation to recruit new converts?.
in my old congregation, the enthusiasm was there but the knocking on doors produced zero " baptisms" in my final years.. a) why so little interests?.
b) was it the internet ?.

When I was a teen FS was very productive. Back then you could already see the small cliques and smugness and haughtiness of the elders with many trying to position themselves for privileges.
Yet, brothers and sisters were more caring and sincere with the congregation working in unison when required without complaints.
Today it's a much different picture with much backbiting, backstabbing, gossip (VERY BIG), ass kissing (HUGE), cliques (YOU DON'T JOIN WE ASK YOU), shunning weak ones, and the mother-lode of all, appointed men especially elders, behaving as if they are better more spiritual than you.
And just add all of this the fact that with the advent of the internet people in general are starting to uncover *hit that you could only know by buying old literature or an old Witness awakening. The WTS sure did help in this department though by digitizing everything.
It's very eerie how the Apostle Peter specifically mentions these hard times in 2 Peter 2:1-3.
I honestly do not believe that if the WTS could do it all over again, they would digitize all of the old literature for all to see. But in an effort to save money (their second most cherished prize, power being # 1), they did it.
Jehovah God is now bringing the hammer down on these hypocrites false prophets and I for one am dancing jig.

Local Congregation Takes Away My Dad's Phone Hook-Up (HE'S 85 YRS. OLD)
by NoMoreHustle inthis happened about 6 months ago, didn't really have an opportunity to post about it (been busy), but they still haven't given back his password for the phone hook-up.
they say that this is direction from the "branch office".
i think it's complete bs, the real reason why they are doing this is to punish me & my family because i am basically a ghost when it comes to meetings & any type of activity.

Simple. Give them a formal warning that you will be writing to the Branch Office and advising them of their actions.
