Faulty Reasoning to Promote God's "Name"
by Dissonant15 inas i am newly awoken, i am daily having epiphanies & revelations now.
i've been casually wondering to myself since the propagandist broadcast about the name "jehovah" if it would be more proper to call him "yahweh" to myself.
well tonight the answer suddenly came to me: it doesn't matter.

Lurker trying to gain clarity
by questioningmyfaith inhello all, i would like to first say that i am basically questioning my faith in god.
i am not negative towards the wt at all.
so honestly i am to concerned with more ad hominem attacks towards the wt because i still love the organization and the people in it.

@ questioningmyfaith - Thanks for having the courage to speak your mind on this forum. It allows me and the members to get an insight on what other JW's are feeling. Congratulations on seeing the truth about many false or corrupted teachings in the organization. If brothers truly adhered to Scripture, there would be so many more people questioning the GB.
Now, to answer your question or at least add my thoughts:
If you go back to just say the 1950s in this country, and the world in general, you'll notice that people were more cognizant of their fellow humans. So what happened? The morality and depravity of humans started to reveal itself. How? Why? The Bible is clear when it says "you will hear of wars, but do not be frightened, for the end is until the appointed time." The Christ knew people would go through ALL of this in the future and many would start to question our existence because of it. Think about how Job felt when he preferred death to continuing to suffer. The Bible also spoke of the majority of people growing cold with each other because of these happenings.
I will however, give you a bit of advice. Let no one deceive you, like the Apostle Paul said "into believing the day of Jehovah is here." The GB is excellent at doing this and instead of trying to convert people with love, they use fear. A tactic that is sure to yield results as the over 8 million members will attest to (the majority lacking critical thinking skills). The end will come but not by anything or anyone belonging to the WTS. They will continue throwing darts to see if any of them will hit the bulls-eye.
Don't lose your hope in Jehovah God and the Christ. They exist and the proof is all around us such as our regenerative Eco-system. The diverse animal life which many scientist still failing to even replicate some basic animal characteristics. The perfect position of the moon and sun, and our incredible, incredible bodies that have hundreds of automatic sequences and operations.

Anybody have any "REAL" experiences of spirit/demon activity? I'll explain.
by runForever ini know there is a lot of people on here that will say it is pure make believe but i am interested if anybody has had any real concrete things happen such as something moving or something appearing in the mirror etc.. anything just post it up here even if it wasn't much.

I noticed many people are denying the actual existence of higher dimension demonic spiritual forces.
The volume of supernatural movies that Hollywood is releasing is a testament to the reality of these forces. Ask yourself, why would a Hollywood Director spend millions advertising a film plot that could never be true? Could never be reality?
If demons did not exist, I don't believe people would be scared out of their minds when viewing these films. Much less spend millions going to watch them.
It's kinda like a young 5 year old toddler watching a movie about Barney and NOT believing he is real. What would be the point?
And for those people that don't see, hear, or feel anything. For some obscure reason, these spirit beings do not wish to make their presence known. Perhaps you no longer believe in God which is a perfect reason as Scripture says.
Now on to my personal story. One thing is to imagine seeing something, speaking to it, hearing it. Another matter altogether is to actually feel it. When we dream even during the REM stage, our bodies can still sense touch. Many times I've been poked and pinched only to jerk awake. I've been touched, patted, and spoken to. But unlike many people, I simply shrug it off and sometimes being really tired I actually ask "them" to leave me alone and go right back to sleep.
Still don't believe demons are real but imagined? Cool project:
Curse Satan and his buddies out loud while playing the Ouija board (available at your local Toys r' Us) or while playing "Charlie". Better yet, light many candles and go into a deep meditative state and then in a loud voice summon Satan or his buddies. Then you will see for yourself how real these entities really are.
As a side note; yes, I've personally also played the Ouija board when I was younger. That was the last time I did something so stupid.

Guardians Of Doctrine (GOD) and the Governing Body
by punkofnice ini don't know if gb member g jackson really meant the gb were 'god', with his 'guardians of doctrine' comment at the arc.
it's nice and conspiracy to think so, i suppose.
i honestly don't know.

Jackson subconsciously inserted the acronym several times throughout right into the subconscious completely bypassing the conscious mind.
It's a scientific fact that's been studied for more than 50 years possibly longer.
The WTS uses a combination of propaganda techniques, NLP, and subliminal imaging and wording.

Is this a subtle clue that the leaders really see the "great tribulation" of the WT coming soon?
by never a jw insimilarly, we cannotexpect that the future interruption inthe great tribulation will result in aninflux of new believers.
rather, it willbe an opportunity for all true believersto prove their love for jehovah andgive their support to christs brothers.. (par.
7, page 16, wt july 2015).

It's the same darn tune different year. They are seeing the amounts they will have to fork out and are trying to scare the friends into sending in as much dough as possible.
Does anyone remember that one WT study where one picture shows the friends gathered in a basement with the little girl looking right into the camera? The fact that the little girl was looking directly into the camera is a propaganda technique to make the reader, yes mentally force them, to identify themselves with the people in the group.
Gotta love the propaganda techniques they continue to use. Feels like FOX News sometimes.

If they go bankrupt, so what?
by maksutov init seems likely that the watchtower is worried about its finances, given the downsizing, property schemes, and money-grabs we have been seeing over the last few years.
perhaps they suffered badly from the financial crisis.
for sure, there will be more expenses to come from child abuse payouts.

Considering it is a Pharisee-like organization and it is Jehovah God who will ultimately manipulate their downfall or expose them for who they really are, which I believe is happening right now, nothing can stop their downfall. The governing body will scramble like little lab rats trying to cover their rear-ends (Morris finally cutting that mane) trying to move and save as much wealth as possible (power no longer there, money takes over). It reminds me of Ray Franz whom the governing body gave $10k to, when he resigned from the board. Anyone know of someone getting such as nice sendoff?
The members will temporarily be left without a central authority i.e. governing body, leadership and eventually the Christian model will return to the congregations with elders taking the lead on a local level. Just like in Biblical times.
IMHO.

@ umbertoecho - read Fritz Springmeier and how he connects the WTS to the Illuminati and Rothchilds. I personally feel it's a bit far fetched but if there's one thing I've learned and that's to expect the unexpected. -

Today's Special Day Assembly Expenses and the $10,499 Deficit. Silent Majority?
by Tenacious intoday i attended a one-day assembly in my hometown.
i knew when it came time to read the afternoon expenses that it would be an incredibly high and ridiculous amount that was nowhere near the real expenses for that day.
sure enough, after lunch came the announcement.

Wifi and Tech49 are spot on. It was the "Imitate Jehovah" one-day assembly. Tech you are spot on about many talks pointing towards being "smart" about wasting money on the latest technology among others.
Let me add to my initial OP in that there was I believe a $3,000 + "in the bank" which by the time the brother was announcing the figures was probably already in the mail to the org in the form of a check. With the rest coming after they collect every single penny from the friends.
As far as baptisms I believe there was 16 in total with majority being young early 20s some late teens and about two or three below the age of 15 that I saw. Sad, sad situation for them.

not going to school
by Sabin ini don't know if it is the same where you are but where i live it is a common practise of jdub`s to withdraw their kid`s from school at about year 8 even younger in some cases.
they say they are being home schooled & of cause they do cover a certain amount of school topics.
don't get me wrong i`m not saying that it is wrong to home school a youngster, especially if they are being bullied or suffering in some way, but the jdub`s don't do it for this purpose, oh no their kid`s are out on the field service during what would be school hours.

This is also an issue that is becoming very common around my hometown.
The excuse is always avoiding bad influences that can lead to trouble yada, yada.
My thinking is the kid is going to have to experience the world someday so trying to overprotect him now will only result in shock later on. The kid has to display where his loyalty lies and if he really is faithful to God. Parents trying to ingrain a belief or doctrine into someone who doesn't except it or believe it is useless to God. So therefore, protecting a child who is encouraged to make the biggest decision of his life in baptism while still a preteen or teen, yet is unable to care for himself spiritually. Makes sense?
I see the similarity in teaching a kid at home in a driving simulator how to drive. Once the kid passes the driving tests and hits the road he will be shocked to actually experience the true nature and emotions that come with driving a 3000 lb vehicle around other real cars, trucks, buses, trains, bikes, mopeds, and people. It's just not the same.
