These guys just freak me out!
by John Aquila inok, i didnt think anything about it.
but last night some friends from across the city called me up and said that the co was visiting their hall and in his talk he said that the society is getting geared up for a massive kingdom hall and assembly hall construction project worldwide next year.
they told the publishers; "get ready".

heartbroken and not sure what to do...
by Khaleesi ini don't know what to do.... i married last year and things have been very rocky.
we dated for 4 years and did have normal issues but always had a lingering doubt something was just not right in our relationship-behavior to be more specific, he is not a jw, but i am.
yes i know i married outside the "lord" but after my first marriage to a jw ended in divorce for physical abuse, i was glad i didn't married another jw.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles.
Don't let anyone talk down to you for marrying a non-believer. We all make mistakes and are prone to continue making them. Who stand tall before God? No one!
The very best advice I can give to you would be to first and foremost DO NOT GO NEAR ANY KINGDOM HALL. Sorry for the capital letters but I cannot stress this enough. You and I know what they will recommend you do (field service, pioneering, attend meetings, studying, etc.).
Plan a date or a time to speak to him at home over a cup of tea, coffee, whatever, and pour your heart out to him about your concerns. Tell him you love him and want to make it work. If he is a non-believer do not push religion into the matter. Although you could read some Psalms and other texts as marital guides but nothing else and let him know so. Kinda like consulting a manual or reference book.
Pray to Jehovah God and ask him to give you peace and tranquility and to help your marriage survive. If speaking with him does not help, try to find some counseling or a mediator. But don't worry yourself to death. Instead look to the positive side of your marriage and try to build on these.
I'll be praying for you, your husband, and your home.

A new member
by Kurteousmaximus inhi... i am new and after nearly 20 years after being disassociated at 15 i would like to make contact with others who have similar difficulties.
my mother was disfellowshipped shortly after my rebellion and had all ties with both her mother and brother cut and that remains the case.. just really hacked off with not being able to put things in the proper place in my life after all these years.
for the record i don't know if i believe in god but am searching for some peace as i seem to self destruct on a regular basis.. any ideas anyone?.

Welcome! You are certainly one of the few that managed to pull this off.
Congrats again! If you still believe in God, I would definitely encourage you to continue studying and reading of the Bible with your family.
You can't blame Jehovah for those animals.

@ Splash - that's exactly what came to mind when I saw this thread. LOL
Just research The Searcher threads and you'll find more than plenty.
The letters from Paul are full of these references as well.

Introducing...ME
by Heartsafire inlong time lurker here.
i'm a fifth gen born-in baptized jw.

Welcome Heartsafire!
I also get the same response from spouse when I brought up negative things.
Reason is they start to experience cognitive dissonance which can practically drive a person mad.
You are in a safe, compassionate, caring, and sincere community now.
Hey, isn't that supposed to be our Spiritual Paradise? But it's more like Nazi Germany.

Watchtowers million dollar scam
by GeddyLee inback in the late eighties i was on the committee to build our cities new double kingdom hall so that all five halls would be under one roof.
we needed to come up with five hundred thousand dollars to complete the new hall, so we had a kingdom hall fund drive where the local brothers would raise the needed funds.
after two years we had collected the half million dollars, and guess where that money went????????
