Did Ray Franz manage to live out a comfortable retirement from the proceeds of his books.
by joe134cd ini'm just curious if anybody knows.
firstly i don't take issue with the man making money from his books and if he was able to live comfortably from it then i say power to him.
but what i'm wanting to know was just how successful was it and did it allow him to live out the remainder of his years in comfort e.g buy a house, eat good food etc.

I highly doubt he made more than a few thousands after paying for publishing etc. When his second book was released, e-books were barely making a dent on the internet.
His audience was very, very small compared to other genres and he knew this. Yet Ray went on ahead and published it. This, to me, speaks volumes in that he did it for those who were currently suffering, would suffer, and destined to suffer without having much a say (newborns, kids, preteens, etc.).
Ray Franz has done more to ease the mental suffering of current and former Witnesses than all former member publications put together. Ray just had a rare view into the inner workings and he gave those to us in his brutally honest words. Although, I still believe he could have spewed some really juicy tidbits here and there and confirmed detrimental actions by other GB members and Bethelites, yet he chose not to and this reflects his goal and aim at trying to help the friends and teaching them about how one should truly adhere to Scripture and follow Christ in honor of God.
My only wish, and boy how I wished it, was to speak to him personally. Even corresponding with him would have sufficed.

@ Beautiful Mind - I can't say I blame you or your hubby. It's not easy to sit there and observe everything from a completely different, and may I say, normal perspective much less sing the majority of the crap songs that only serve to ingrain and program your mind to obey the Slave and nothing else not even scripture. Not to mention how they crap on Christ and everything he did.
I can only wish you the best and hope you guys regain your sanity and live a life befitting a true follower of the Christ and rightfully be called a Christian not a Jehovah's Witness.

The Bible does say that there would be chants of "Peace and Security" right before the end came.
Who the heck knows. The best thing I can do for myself, my family, and my fellow man is to follow in the footsteps of the Christ. The New Testament is the best if not the ultimate guide in how to live a peaceful long life.
Everything else will fall into place.
So far so good.

I'm extremely happy for you!! I wish I could say the same about my spouse.
Just a cautionary word. He should distance himself but continue to read his Bible and therefore maintain his spirituality. Perhaps you could also join him in doing so. Remember, the WTS does teach many Biblical truths but they teach it with a price. Mental enslavement. Satan is also very sly and will try and utilize this to allow you guys more moral freedom to do as you please regardless of Biblical morals.
We don't enjoy FS anymore because the message itself has been corrupted. God said in Galatians that even if an angel came down from heaven and asked us to preach a different gospel other than the good news of the Christ, he should be accursed. He said this twice for emphasis!
Field service by going home to home is one of the least effective ways to accomplish the spreading of the gospel. Paul used to teach publicly in the synagouge for years at a time. Where people would like what they were hearing and would sit and listen to him. He openly would answer their questions and doubts. We get tired out mentally from the WTS constantly DO MORE, DO MORE, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY, mental enslavement. And when we do go and teach people we teach them about what Jehovah can do for them instead of what Jesus our Lord, has already done and will do in the near future. Hence, the good news of the Christ.
The WTS will only print out magazines providing the actual original message which was the good news of the Christ perhaps once a year and that is during the memorial. That is completely unacceptable according to scripture. We are to preach this message only, and ONLY this message otherwise we are accursed!

Unless this scientist has an army of armed guards around the clock to protect him and his family, I doubt he makes it the full 10 days to make the announcement.

INSPIRED ERROR: new phrase among JW CO
by wannaexit inthere is no end to their madness.
the co gave a talk on inspired error.
i have never heard of it.

I recently sat through this nauseating talk. When I heard the title I thought wow okay they are finally going to come clean about the inspired error of the GB. How stupid I was in thinking this.
It's pretty sinister the way the CO linked demons to viewing negative information concerning the WTS.
Then he goes on and on about the GB existing in Biblical times. He did admit that the phrase did not appear in the Bible but he insisted that spiritual instructions did originate from a "body" of elders and apostles like the circumcision problem.
It took some restraint on my part to sit through that garbage. Him and his wife are definitely company material. He further said that the Bible should be used to confirm the teachings. I thought to myself "exactly!"

Jehovahs Witnesses and the Name , HOW Important. ?
by smiddy injehovah`s witnesses place great emphasis on the importance of god`s name as jehovah .so much so that they are often accused by christendom`s religions as substituting jehovah for christ.. the old testament ( hebrew scriptures identify god as the tetragrammaton four hebrew consanants yhwh and not jhvh.
as mistakenly believed by a 13th century spanish monk .. modern scholars including the j.w.`s agree that the more accurate pronunciation of gods name would be more nearer to yahweh than the name jehovah .. so why do j.w.`s insist on the name ?
jehovah ?

I don't have a problem with the name Jehovah being that Bibles for many, many years, have clearly used the name 'Jesus' and other similar Biblical names that all the same utilize the 'Je' prefix. Names like Jeremiah, Jehoahaz, Jehoram, etc. And all of these names connotate Jehovah in some form.
I do have a problem with the abusive nature in which the WTS uses the name Jehovah. Even using the name in places where Jesus' name rightfully should be in the Bible.
