Will someone invite you to the memorial?
by JH in.
most of us didn't go to the memorial since years.
do the elders come over once a year to invite you to go, or maybe a friend?.....or do they just ignore you?

I am no longer a Witness. So I no longer understand the fear of asking any questions. Perhaps I need to remember the setting of the board and that some fears could still be in place. I am just happy they are not in me.

Could You REALLY Explain All The Beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus ini'll bet that most could not explain why jws believe that 1914 was a marked year, the watchtower definition of the faithful & discreet slave, not accepting blood transfusions, the differences between porneia, loose conduct and uncleanness, etc..........

With the Trinity, I never understood either side. Why did people want to believe in it, and why did we not? I did teach it a couple of times in Bible Studies, and had it taught to me by people who believed in it. I have to admit, I was always lost and thinking, "Is this really that important?"

Not to be negative, but you seem to spend way to much time reading the former religions publications. Isn't it time to leave it alone and not let it be so much of your life. Just my first thought, from looking over the long post.

Do you still have a nice handwriting?
by JH inmore than ever, we use our computers and printers to write whatever we need to write.
it's neat and we can edit our mistakes without anybody noticing.
but on the other hand, we practise less and less our handwriting.

It's really good, but my hand get tired fast when I try to write. I find that after a short time of writing I am suffering from a form of pain. Must be a different mussle group.

I could explain them pretty good. Except for 1914, I always tried to get by that one fast or without notice. Oh, and Birthdays, that was reaching out for something that wasn't even close to being there.

Okay, this is just weird, but what do you think?
by spiritwalker inokay this is really off the wall, or maybe i am reading to much religious history and sci-fi publications, but this had me wondering last night and i had to post it.
i was reading some information lately on how ancient people might have viewed alien visitation in their lives.
many people figure that this might be something viewed as gods and perhaps some of the legends or even the highest religious books, are based some visitations from other worlds.

What always bothers me, is that as a species. We are willing to accept the concept of angels and invisable gods that no one as have seen, as socially acceptable. Yet to suggest aliens, or the fact that man may have been an experiment of another race. Comes across as something out there or unthinkable. It's the same thing, only one makes you think "God is looking over us" and the other make you think, "If this is true, then neither is god."

Something Democrats say that shows me they like to make statements without all the facts. Just to get an emotional response.
Quote
"The Supreme Court decided the last presidential election"
Reasons for the quote
Supreme Court refused to delay election results any longer, and did not allow another recount, in what became an endless request of recounts. This along with the fact that Bush won by electoral college and not popular vote, makes people feel some hateful pride in this statement.
Ignored facts
1 . Since the end of this election, the recount has been done in Florida by many organizations. Including, extreme pro-Democrat organization. None have ever come up with a count that has Gore winning.
2 . Every president wins by electoral college and not popular vote. While it is true, that the popular vote is general in favor of the winning candidate. This countries election process is not dependent on this method. Meaning, that it is not how many votes you get, it is how many states you won. This has been the rules for the election process since the constitution outlines it. Both candidates knew this going in and play to that game in the process. You can not change the rules at the end, even if the outcome is not something you favor. Whining about it, shows that you do not respect the governments laws, and shows others that you are not in the "AMERICAN" way of doing things. Perhaps you should do like Alec Baldwin promised and find another country.
Just another example of why I do not respect the Democrat party

P**sing Into the Wind?
by patio34 ini haven't been reading much political stuff here as i've been feeling overwhelmed.
the more i read, condone the what seems to me to be blatant criminal and bigoted actions of the current administration.
i'm not going to defend those statements, it's my opinion and i know the right-wingers are "true believers" when it comes to bush, et al.. i'll be in the fray in other ways, but not on this board.

Just remember, everyone has a right to there own thinking. Yet law is what keeps the country under control. There is no, will never be, and hopefully it never happens, going to be a perfect way of thinking and controlling people. Just remember, for every side of the coin in your thinking. There is another side and to think in only one manner and not giving yourself a fair education of the other. Is putting yourself in the exact position you despise in others. I will most likely vote Bush - At this time we need a strong president and not someone with a proven track history of being liberal on issues that need addressing at this time. - I do not like seeing a change in administration during a time of war - The economy is swinging up and everyone knows that a change in admin, cause a downward swing to being with. Especially with a man who says, "I will raise taxes!" - I never vote for anyone who says they will raise taxes! Never will and can not understand anyone who does! - I think Kerry is weird looking and he gives me the creeps (Sorry, I am a 80's child)
