The warnings were TRUE
by unique1 inyou know all the myspace.com warnings that were on here about elders on a witch hunt searching for active jw's blogs and using them against them?
well the elders didn't search but an old aquaintenance did.
she was disfellowshipped for her blogs concerning all the casual sex she was having.

Do you have the option of letter writing or calling random numbers? if you have a job or go to school, you could count your time and tell people you talk to co-workers or other students. Take doors by yourself and don't even make it about the JW thing, just show people a scripture from the bible and tell them to have a nice day.

Respect Jehovah's Authority, one crazy WTS Video!
by drew sagan ina few months ago i ordered some of the videos that i didn't own.
it is a strange video that follows the drama they had a few years ago at the circut assembly.
between the digital effects, strange makeup, odd dialog, and commentary by governing body member samuel herd, this might be one of the societys strangest videos ever.

Those announced as "no longer regular pioneers"
by stillAwitness in3 sisters were announced as such at this past meeting (2 of which have a family member who was recently d'f but the third had been pioneering for as long as anyone can remember)
coincidence?
or possibly they were caught in some freaky-deaky 3 way love fest?

pioneering is now 90 a month? back when I was in, it was 60 hours a month to pioneer, 30 hours to auxillary pioneer, 6 hours to be me.

Mcdonalds gets their meat from animals that have been dead for up to 3 days w/out being processed..Yet,I see lots of JWs there getting lunch..Maybe they didnt read "FASTFOOD NATION"?
oh, I read that book! that on top of the documentary about that guy who ate it for a month staright...I haven't been back since. as far as finding a dead animal...I'd bury it for fertilizer and then grow some plants on top of it. now, if I saw it die and was able to run over and pick it up...free squirrel steak!

well, honestly...if he gets DFed or DAs himself, his social circle won't exactly be suffering, unlike 99% of jdubs. what, some JWs won't talk to him anymore? out of how many hundred of thousands of people who still would?

The Better Days...
by Blueblades inmy mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cuting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't get food poisoning.
my mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter and i used to eat a bite raw sometimes, too.
our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper, in a brown paper bag, not in ice pack coolers, but i can't remember anybody getting e.coli.. almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool ( talk about boring ), no beach closures then.. the term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school pa. system.

I have to agree with some of it, but there have been improvements. If my son had been born even twenty years ago, he would have been left to rot in the Special Ed class by the school. Instead, he was diagnosed early and we were able to get support for when he started school, and now he's in advanced math and gets help with reading. Back when I was a kid, you couldn't be Gifted and Special Ed at the same time.
Also, there was a LOT of child abuse and sexual abuse that never was reported because it was too shameful. I'm glad this is no longer a taboo subject. My parents and many of my friends parents were beaten and sexually abused by friends and relatives and could never tell anyone, so they suffered and thought it was their fault.
I don't miss separate White and Colored sections, or women requiring their husbands signature to withdraw money from their own account, either. I don't miss police looking the other way when a guy beats his wife.
They may have been simpler days, but they were not better, in my opinion. -

Hope they stuck around for the Prince Show! Judging from what Kevin Smith said about him, that spoof is dead-on.

So far, I'm enjoying my thirties WAY more than my twenties, and exponentially more than my teens. So, I wouldn't be surprised if forty turns out to be AWESOME!
