Is it cheaper to live in the U.S.A?

being from the uk i find the cost of living high, but according to most its much cheaper to live in the usa,i mean food is cheaper,fuel is cheaper,hi-fi is cheaper,i bet everything is cheaper,why the hell is it cheaper in the usa.

so if im wrong convince me why im better off in the uk.

I also forgot to add that as JanH mentioned about visitors particularly those from UK and Ireland, they get a better currency exchange rate ($1.50 for 1 pound, roughly). So for English and Irish tourists, they are getting more for the money when they visit America.

It is partly true what JanH said about whether you're a local or a tourist in the case of Americans here in America: For a Northener (NYC, Boston), it may be cheaper for them visit Southern states (Florida, Georgia), but the reverse isn't necessarily true.

I have to disagree with Mulan about the chocolate. I feel that chocolate, desserts and pastries in general are much better in Europe than in America. However, Mulan is right about cost of living here in America. I may add also it depends where in America are you living? Some states have higher state tax, property tax than others. Others don't have a state tax (Florida for example). Some states have higher property values than others. A lot depends also where in America too. Overall, I love living in America because you can get a helluva lot more for your money than in England.

That is true too and it may answer your question of why you're better off living in UK.

I can relate to what you've been thru as I had also been through that. Isn't it unbelievable how a non-sense religion like the JWs can affect relationships and even more between a non-JW and a JW?

I can tell you right now that if you're involved with him, be careful. Personally, I suggest get away. I've been there.

ladies i know i shouldn't really hit on this because i have no real understanding of what you go through when you are raped.

i just want to try and understand some of what is going on.

let me ask this q. do you believe that the elders do not want to report the rapes or they are told they cannot report the rapes from the gb?
