she, like me, was raised a jw.
she is a sweet, sincere and wonderful woman.
Let me add that one the biggest misconception that they live by is the following:
"It is better to be with the worst JW than with the best worldly"
In other words, to them, it is better to hang out with a JW pedophile or criminal than with a honest, law-abiding worldly.

JWs, like many people living under a tyrannical dictatorship, live with misinformation: All their sources and their only allowed media comes from the dictator. They (correct me if I am wrong), in many cases, are threatened if they are going to look at the other side of the story. Therefore, they have a lot of misconceptions about us.
Do they have freedom? NO. They don't have freedom of thinking for themselves as everything is thought out for them. They don't have freedom of speech as they cannot question the elders and their doctrines. What other freedoms they don't have? I bet countless others. Even one of their main media source, the bible, is altered to conform WatchTower Society teachings and politics.
i'd like to make a few points which i know i will be eaten alive for, but here goes...... is there really a devil?.
history of religion has always believed in the devil, but has portrayed him in different lights....he himself transforms into an angel of light, making something that is evil seem innocent and fun.
his best ploy: having people believe he don't exist...this is to his own advantage.. he is a malignant enemy of god and man!

Since you are gonna become a JW, Don't you know that JWs are not allowed to sites like this?
Also, Don't you know JWs are not allowed to used bad languages and curse words?
If you want to become a JW, that is your prerrogative. Believe me, the moment that you come here defending WatchTower Doctrines and Views, you will find a big opposition from us that not even your elders will be able to answer as we will question the validity of each doctrine that you and they will present here. I certainly know that you will get defensive when we ask questions and you'll take the questions as attacks.
So, go ahead become a JW. Just remember, you are not supposed to be here. Not my rules or the rules of this board, they are actually WatchTower Society's rules.

i have actually been on this board for a few months and never really posted how i ended up here.
maybe it would be healthy,,.
i was raised as a witness, my dad was an elder and my mom vacation pioneered, eventually she was an auxiliary pioneer, so witness activities were always going on.

I've never been a JW myself, but I always love to hear other people's experiences and stories with the JWs as more proof and verification of why to avoid this cult.

as i was driving away from the airport a couple of days ago, i noticed a bunch of asian folks getting out of about 4 cars with these bright yellow t-shirts on.

don't get me wrong i hope this board and the likes, enlightens alot of people and brings them out of the society, it just that i guess it boggles my mind.
As for the watchtower: We're talking about a paranoid little fringe group with a persecution complex! Look at how they police their members! It's all about control. Cults are like that.
So much for their claim of being Persecuted. Sheesh!
