  When did name change occur?

  i was wondering if any one could tell me when the jws officially changed their name to be jehovah's witnesses?

  if i remember correctly they were 1st called bible students and then russelites.

  i think the answer is in the book jehovah's witnesses proclaimers of god's kingdom and i will go and try to find it.

  I was wondering if any one could tell me when the JWs officially changed their name to be Jehovah's Witnesses? If I remember correctly they were 1st called Bible Students and then Russelites. I think the answer is in the book Jehovah's Witnesses Proclaimers of God's Kingdom and I will go and try to find it. In another post on the Private Discussion board I have posted about my mother and I. Today we discussed the religion for about 3 hours and one point she brought out was that she knows she's in the truth because of the scripture that says "you are my witnesses". I asked her then who decided to call them that and if they were indeed the true religion would'nt Jehovah had told them that name from the start. That once only about 5 minutes of our 3 hours but now its bugging me that I can't remember.

  Another thing is does anyone know if the corporate holdings of the WTBTS is availible for public record? I would think in would be. We were talking about their stock holdings in various things and I would love to be able to back up some of what I am saying. I will start researching myself but if anyone knows off the top of their head that would be much appreciated.

  Thanks for your help as this has been a long time coming between me and my family and it is a very difficult place to be.

  I love the fact that in my marriage I am equal to him in all decisions. Can't stand the jumping my mother does for her husband. There is no way I could let my daughter feel she is less of a person for being female. How would male JWs come to be without a woman to give birth to them?

  and united nations i thought there was a reference of admission from the watchtower bible & tract in one of he daily texts.

  if any one knows about this about this and could refer me to where it is located i would much appreciate it.. thanks so much......mooneyes

  Thanks so much for your help. The reason why I am loooking for it is due to an arguement with a family member who is an active J.W. I was raised a witness but was never baptised. Even still it wasn't untill 2 years ago I even looked into the religon from an outside point of view. When I found out all I did it was a real eye opener for me. I asked my family about the U.N. matter and was told I had fallen for the biggest hoax out there and must be very studip and gullible (blah, bLah, blah). So I thought if I had something written from the J.W.'s to prove my point that would be great because my family would'nt belive anything else.

  Also a couple phone calls to Bethel offices brought no answers as both times I was told no one there could give me an answer and to call back.
