  McKinney Texas pool party?

  so today i was asked my thoughts on the pool party incident in mcminney, texas.

  my response: it shows a clash of expectations.

  i saw police officers who expected citizens to listen to and follow instructions.

  The officer has since quit. His police captain berated his ass as unprofessional and having no place in his department.

  What I find disturbing is how some people are lining up to excuse this cop for what is clearly inexcusable behavior.

  There is an expectation for kids across the color spectrum to not show the best judgement and push boundaries, however, it at least should be expected that adults and in particular law enforcement officers, be held to a higher standard regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in and control the inclination to misdirected anger. With already 15 cops there, a few mouthy teens I wouldn't call imminently life threatening. All it would've taken was a call on the radio to get more manpower to get the situation under control. Or, as one poster already stated, one calm law enforcement professional with more than a few firing neurons with a police dog.

  Instead, we have one particular cop amongst the many acting professionally running around doing barrel rolls, slamming kids to the ground, screaming like a raving lunatic, dragging a bikini clad girl across concrete and grass slamming her face in the dirt, and being surprised when the situation escalates to the point where he feels he has to pull his weapon.

  If anyone else had or came across a kid who we felt was being mouthy, the same people singing this cops praises would be lining up to hang us by the balls if we were caught dragging them across concrete, slamming them on the ground, and standing atop them with both knees in their back regardless of the reasons precipitating the incident. CPS would be at your door ready to take all your kids away and the same policeman with knees in the back of the bikini clad girl would be taking our ass off to jail. Even dogs are given more consideration.

  But, in this case, some want to give this cop an "atta-boy", a pat on the back for being so diligent in "safeguarding" the community, and a gold metal.

  ...cause he has a badge and a gun.....

  Yeah....what a real tough guy that policeman was. A true piece of work and shining example of today's law enforcement protection and service with respect to interaction with the minority in the community.

  He couldn't be bothered go after either of the two male teens, black or white, he perceived as a more immediate and dangerous enough threat to draw his weapon on.

  But he sure went back to and spent a whole lot of time slamming a half naked 14 year old black girl to the ground and putting both of his knees in her back just for giving him a little lip and not "respecting" his authority. Looked to me like he was really getting off on that. His johnson was probably hard enough to cut diamonds with.

  I can only imagine the complete outrage and lack of patience for a comprehensive fully perceptive report had the race of those participants been reversed.

  I think the WT believed their own "growth" statements - Financial Trouble Thoughts

  we've all read, heard and have seen in the videos where jw's and their leaders talk about the "huge" growth that is taking place.

  they've talked about how many kh they needed, branches etc... .

  our co last visit he mentioned how quickly the organization is speeding up and the huge growth they are seeing.

  I will support my wife in her chosen religion but I won't support her chosen religion.

  That is the way I see it as well.

  The few dollars my wife is probably donating doesn't amount to much. And that is a good thing as she know she's got it good by not having to work for the past 20 years.

  A Burger and a Hook-up

  so i went to get a burger just now, and a couple of elders from my former congregation caught me off guard.

  they started giving me the we feel so sorry for you, you must be so lonely bit.

  i kept telling them im doing great and im not lonely but its like they couldnt hear me talking.

  your not a "spiritual man" you can't date or marry one of the congregation princesses. Even if you are a hard working man with values and character.

  As far as they are concerned, a hard working man with values, character, and fidelity is of no use practically to one of their superfine sisters if he doesn't posses the WT component of a position in the organization.

  They'd much rather that sister marry that 30 hour a month auxiliary pioneer brother who's reaching out in appearance, but will not be afraid to lay that pimp hand down in private.

  Why I remain one of Jehovah's Witnesses

  allow me to begin with a clarification: when i say i am one of jehovah's witnesses, i don't mean that i am an advocate of the watchtower society or a devotee of some of its more controversial false teachings.

  i mean that i am a christian, a disciple of jesus christ dedicated to jehovah god, and who remains in union with my brothers and sisters who make up the family of faith that globally refers to itself as jehovah's witnesses.

  some totally understand the distinction between the family of brothers and sisters and the corporate organization known as the watchtower society (wts).

  i've been dating a jw girl for about 4 years and we've recently had a lot of issues with the fact that her family doesn't like that i'm not a jw.

  i've been looking into the religion and am interested in it.

  but is it wrong to join just so i don't lose her?

  i went back to smoking and gambling but the good habits out weigh.

  Well.....I got into the bad habit of going to college and finishing 4 college degrees, learning how to fly single engine aircraft, and more than quadrupling my income.......

  .....all the things that will take time away from ensuring my everlasting life by wasting valuable and precious time going door to door schlepping useless magazines.

  i saw this coming since my mother-in-law's funeral .... the congregation's "love-bombing" over my wife had its impact.

  i watched her drawing closer and closer to her friends in the congregation.

  then she decided she would attend the memorial.

  As was pointed out, some people just prefer the Watchtower religion and don't care if they are being manipulated and lied to, any more than black people as a group don't care that Obama has lied to them about his muslim, marxist and gay proclivities.
