  but i will try and leave out here for as long as i can.. it is an email i have sent to my dad.

  Just a thought...some are using this opportunity to disassociate themselves from the WBTS in a formal letter in the local newspaper. Including, of course, full explanation of the UN situation among others. Great opportunity for free coverage!

  as of 6:02 pm last night i received a facsimile from paul hoeffel at the un on the wts.. he gave me 3 of the 4 things i requested in two paragraphs.. i have sent a scanned version to steve bates and someone else.. i sent it to kent and randy.

  and kent and randy have posted the official united nations letter on their web sites.. here is the letter - put your cursor on the image and then right click on your mouse and hit "save image" to your computer.. .

  after you look at kent's web site and you people still think this it is a fake letter, phone paul hoeffel yourself at (212) 963-8070.. hawk

  i want to thank so many of you for giving me the ammunition i needed to initiate actions that i hope will save at least one of my two children from the cult of the wtbts.

  i have been able to undertake some positive actions in no small measure because of all you people here.

  some of you may recall from earlier posts that two of my boys friends were dis-fellowed and that i went ballistic when my kids told me they were not allowed to talk to their best friends because the society says we cant.

  Congratulations! Your son has a great advantage in having you as a parent to balance JW teachings with. Common sense wins in the long run and JW teachings run low on that.

  If you can, can you send me a copy of the letter? I am in basically the same situation. My ex is a JW and pressures the kids to comply. I am just trying to be calm and patient and lead a normal life although the girls are told I am "apostate" and "Satan is in my head." In the end they will see I'm still me.

  I hope all goes well with you. You made great progress last night!

  Is the UN 'scandal' the big one ?

  looking at the stats, there are well over 14,000 views of the thread about the un.

  the next 'most read' thread is around 9,500 so it is clearly a burning issue.. i wonder if the involvement with the un is the biggest threat to the wts?.

  they are getting badly burnt because of their covering up child abuse and www.silentlambs.org is doing a great job of raising the profile of this but even so, i can see the 'mental defense mechanism' of many jws excusing this as 'individuals imperfection'.. they cannot excuse the gb getting in bed with the un.

  I heard someone close say, "Maybe this is the beginning of Armageddon." I believe it may be the beginning of the end, for the system some have grown comfortable supporting and put their faith in.... Armageddon being a righteous judgement, that is.

  I sent the information along with sufficient quotes from WTBTS publications to all the major religion editors in Utah. I will send links to any articles that come of it. I am also phoning to keep on top of the issues and give a personal note to things.

  Let's get this thing some attention, before they come up with an "explanation".

  HELP Needed in custody case!

  i received a letter last night (as many of you did) about a particular.

  custody battle being fought by a poster on this board.. she just found out that she lost custody of her 3 children to her jw ex, despite the fact that they are in danger of being exposed to a pedophile relative through this man.. i am asking anyone who may know anything about setting up a legal defense fund (or anyone who knows about utah custudy law/ lawyers in utah) to please respond to this post.

  time is of the essence, the girls have already gone back to their father today.

  95% of disputed custody cases against mother are from abusive spouses. 50% of those win. They usually have greater resources financially and that's pretty much the bottom line.
