I got a report on the March!!

I called the FBI a year ago and they seemed very interested. The investigator I talked to did mention that the FBI knows more about JW's than people realize, and more than most JW's themselves. He also alluded to a large file already existing. Hope they hear about today's exposure.
I also have correspondence from the Justice Dept. regarding shunning! So someone is listening.

Let me start by saying I have been following your posts and appreciate your perspective.
In my own case, there is a mandatory reporting law, which the elders claimed to have knowlege of and ;stated matters would be handled. ; Only after statutes ran out, did the truth of the matter come out, no authorities were never ;notified. ; Even if laws are in place, committees behind closed doors with secret pacts have little use for them or respect for authorities beyond their own. ; The perpetrator even admitted to his actions (fulfilling the 2 witness requirement) and justified it also ;but was never placed under any restrictions. Laws have little meaning to the lawless, those engaged in theocratic warfare
What I have seen, though, is the vast diversity in the reasons behind individuals coming forward. ; I have seen many victims looking for closure or validation. I have seen those who have family still active in the JW community who fear for siblings, cousins, friends. I have also heard the familiar voice of the hurt who jump to any cause that vindicates their private agenda/vendetta. There are also the heros who remain in the background but are the letters and phonecalls and the faces in the court rooms who offer support.
Maybe if we act together for the victims there will be an accounting; to the victims, the families, the media, the community, and finally the law.

JW's DO eat Blood
by Yerusalyim inwhy is it that jw's are so big on this no blood thing, yet still eat blood in their meat?
the dubs i know claim to "cook out" the blood, but this in no way meets biblical standards.
in fact the way meat is slaughtered doesn't come close to meeting kosher requirements in the bible.

I had a Bible study ask me that...How could we eat meat from the grocery store if we had no way of knowing if it was properly bled?
I had no idea what to say. One of those things you hurry and try to forget, lest we think too much and use our brains!

Sorry for missing this....been busy.
I had asked a friend (ex-elder) to study with my husband since I was DA'd. He paused and told me he didn't know what he would say. He had been reading COC and ISOCF and was about 6 months ahead of me. I wondered what he meant. He told me he couldn't tell me but to go to the library and look up what year Jerusalem fell and bring him all the ones that said 607. I did...and then started devouring everything he was reading as soon as he finished. The chronology was a biggie. Also, I was an avid collector of the old books and had wondered why all the elders had counselled me not to read them. I dug out the boxes and was scared to see what I had devoted so much of my life to.
Hope this helps...everyone is different but the facts are the facts and when presented non-confrontationally, might just work.
