Advice You'd Give Your 12-Year-Old Self?
by SYN inthis topic came up on slashdot, where some of the replies were...interesting, to say the least.. what would you guys say to yourselves, if you could send your 12-year-old self a message?.
i know that was about the age i began to read really well, and only five years later i left "the truth", so it was a crucial point in my life, as it is in the lives of many...?.
"hello self, this is...yourself speaking.

Don't let anyone think for you.
You are smarter than this crap and you know it.
If it feels wrong, run. If it feels right, jump!

Well, I'm unofficially shunned
by reubenfine ini sat on my hands for months, wrote emails that i never sent, and finally i told my family about the un scandal.
my mom still loves me although she disagrees, but my sisters told her that they are having a family get together and i'm not invited because i'm an apostate.
my mom says if they are going to talk about me then she isn't going.

Hi Lyle! Good for your mom, shame on your family. It always is a disappointment when they don't show the courage to think. Well, we're glad to have you....and keep planting, it worked on alot of us.

Okay...just why is the "ransom" so gr...
by logansrun inreading the march 2003 okm brought up a question i've had for a long time....why do christians feel the the death of jesus was this unbelievably loving act by both god and christ?
i mean, god knew his son would be faithful to death (because of prophecy...not much of a test on j.c.
eh?

I got stuffed animals and candy for my girls...only I took them to their schools and the secretaries deliver them in front of everyone. I leave an anonymous note with them to let their imaginations take over. *giggle*

My son's letter of disassociation
by Titanic inmy son (18) has given his letter of disassociation to the elders , and it will be announced tomorrow night.i disassociated myself last year but i have never encouraged my son to do so.
he has not done it earlier for personal reasons, though he would have liked to as he really hates them even more than me, and believe me he has very good reasons.
my son was one of the most active young ones in the congregation..he gave so much for this organization...so it was unbelievable the way he was treated in time of test.what an example of ungratefulness and a total lack of love on the part of the jw.

We just got a golden lab puppy and named her Maisy. She is so lovable. A farmer had a free puppies sign and we "just stopped to look." fatal.

Strangest thing you were called on the carpet for.
by Icansaylucky ini would like to hear some of the strangest or most ridiculous thing you got in trouble with the elders for.
here is mine.. back in the early 70's i was married at the age of 18, typical witness thing to do.
my husband who was 6 years older than i ruled me like a overly strict father.
