"marriage to a JW= extreme mental cruelty..."
i put this page on just to know how many jws there are on this site.
i am sure that we all will be intrested to know as to who stands where.
i am only requesting if we are a jw or not, the year we got baptized and the year that we decided to leave.
Baptized: November 20, 1980. Didn't/couldn't say vows.
Escaped: January 20, 1998. One week after discovering the internet I dusted off my antique JW book collection to prove the apostates wrong and learned the truth about the truth. Never to return. Stood up and disfellowshipped the committee who was after me.
my friend was counseled for having a bad attitude because he wore white socks w/ his suit.
My brother was counselled and "marked" for 8 years for filling a sister's cup with coffee during coffee break at a small town cafe' where it is commonplace to fill your own cup. She was recovering from surgery and he was being polite. OBVIOUSLY they were having an affair although he was 18 and she was 53 and married. When he was called before the committee, he was told to "figure it out" regarding the reason for the counsel. It took 8 years for the "offense" to be defined.
sick. sick. sick.
p.s. He's still a JW. He turns down being recommended by the CO for a position in the congregation every 6 months...for 10 years now! A little apostate blood must be in there.
attention apostates!
i'm sick, and i'm bored!!!
that means fun for all of us!.
Thank you! Of course that's my unbiased opinion also.
i am search of a 'loving quote'.
it need not be biblical.
hopefully something that shows we still love our loved ones still held captive, or love, unconditional at any rate.
(dark, but the sentiment is there)
And the swallowing blackness
from which I drag my soul
is now clutching for my children
and I see them disappear
and I see their faces
the faces they hide behind as they knock on the doors,
and memorize those words.
Good news of terror and death and hate.
And I dare not lose their stares as they sink
for it is the last hold
And if I blink, they will be gone
and they will forget I exist
and who they are.
So I look in those faces
and open my heart to send the love they felt
when they lived under my heart.
and hope they never forget.
attention apostates!
i'm sick, and i'm bored!!!
that means fun for all of us!.

This is my little prince. Sorry to go off topic, I couldn't resist. My JW dad phoned and told me to look for this magazine because it looked like my son.
please give examples of noteworthy quotations from publications of the watchtower society.
examples could include where they have contradicted themselves, have been inconsistent with logic, have been patronizing, or how what was written rocked you back.
think about quotes that would be helpful to a sincere witness or "newly interested" person in seeing the watchtower society for what it really is.
Watchtower 1967 June 1 p.338 Move Ahead with Jehovah's Organization
12 How will we put these four things into effect? First, study: We may think of study as hard work, as involving heavy research. But in Jehovah's organization it is not necessary to spend a lot of time and energy in research, for there are brothers in the organization who are assigned to do that very thing, to help you who do not have so much time for this, these preparing the good material in The Watchtower and other publications of the Society. But you do not study enough? Take this suggestion: Often the very best and most beneficial studying you do is that done when you read a new Watchtower or Awake! or a new book with the joy of getting the new truths and a fresh view.
http://quotes.watchtower.ca/verify.htm …Their zeal for knowledge may even prompt them to dig back into things that were published long before they came into the truth, expanding and deepening their understanding, and ever growing in Christian maturity... Do you dig out older publications to expand and deepen your knowledge on subjects about which questions arise? Have you really studied these earlier publications?... How is your background of knowledge? ... Never think: "Oh, I know most of that." For you will find, indeed, that you do not and that you will be strengthened by your additional study...once you have completed your study of them you can then look to even older pub lications ... Only by studying earlier publications and digging back through previous issues of The Watchtower kept in the library at your local Kingdom Hall. There is much in the way of spiritual riches and aids toward mature knowledge in these earlier publications, and their study is most certainly worth your time.
